Look at the blast thru strong resistance! I mean does it get better than Kiwi? or Cable?....

Yeah , pullback or "retracement" will come, yet I want to be on the right side surfing this $%^&er.

It is neither unfair nor untrue.
It is my personal observation as pointed out and I may have missed some bank calls here in FF.
From what I heard an article was published in FF that GS were calling for Gold to go to 2000 just before the sell off.
What they may or may not have actually recommended to their clients is a different matter. My remarks are reserved for specific bank trade call articles published here in FF. I have never seen one work out, all hit SL before going near their TP. I am open to anyone showing otherwise if they have any interest in doing so.

Hey man, pls dont misunderstand!
I think the sell side recommendations are wrong more often than they are right... All i was saying is thats its unfair to paint everyone with a broad stroke...
An example: citi fx called the rally in usd/jpy back in october, and morgan stanley pretty much nailed the top with an exit/short recommendation @ 103 back in april
Anyway, i think it is always prudent to use your own judgement! Take full responsibility for all profits and losses, it makes us better traders...and people...

Ok thx DHT. I admit I really only take notice of Euro and Cable calls with a little interest in Gold just out of curiosity as these are the only pairs I really follow with any interest and in fact I very rarely trade anything but Cable. On these pairs the FF published trade calls with SL an TP levels are spectacular failures.
I always use my own judgement and I am truly amazed how they manage to pick bottoms before issuing their sell recommendations and tops before issuing buy reco's.

Hello GBP/US

Read through if the EUR/US keeps climbing 134+

then GBP/US will do the same.

It would seem 159 to 160

We are all thinking a retrace due soon

just hope it pulls back 158 at least

More than likely take the long way back down

just have to suck it up for a day or two:nerd:

Yeah banks make calls for suckers to move them out of positions so they can get a better price.


Just the same way market makers rape unsuspecting newbies to Forex.

I would expect a near 95% failure of bank rate calls on this forum for GOLD.

there was never a "massive selloff" of gold. There was A MAJOR upswing that was pushing the limit of 2k - which btw will happen.

Then just as steep as gold rose, it corrected.

Risk appetite for the yellow metal weaned and small cap specs got cut out on longs in the 1800 range.

It was not until APRIL of THIS YEAR, that the support line FIRM at 1550 actually broke,
before then, it was RANGE 1800/1750 to 1550 for almost a YEAR after the ALL TIME HIGH which was 6x the value 10 years ago.

In the scheme of things a couple hundred bucks on the price per ozt of AU is not that much. Talk about 1k then you are pushing serious chart damage and perhaps a
small bearish period. As of now, the LONG TERM trend remains UP. Simple as that.
Short it all you want just don't get caught in a bull trap.

the 1900 level has not been seen in many a moon

FYI: current price is ~1320, and the recent low is ~1180...

if a ~60% sell off (1900-1180) does not constitute being massive, then I am not sure what to say to you

but, that's not even what we were talking about... if you are going to jump into a conversation between two people, then at the very least, you should understand the context of what they are talking about, before tying to hi-jack it... its basic etiquette... + strategy 101... this thread is about Cable, I am not discussing my views on gold... just sell side recommendations (with an emphasis on the Vampire Squid)

not trying to pick a fight here, I think people with differences in opinion can actually help each other more often than not (in this business) by building the case for the opposing view...

Uh, yes it does. Compare the circled rally with the current one and then tell me PA can't go "straight up". Or have a look at any yen cross the last few years. The market can remain irrational much longer than you can remain solvent. Don't try to forecast a top based on "it's just moving up too fast", that's dangerous.

Price goes up, price goes down. Not a surprise, but forecasting when that happens can't be based on "it's just too high". Price is never definitely "too high" or "too low", otherwise you'd get rich using a stochastics indicator...
