The markets are very frustrating right now for those of us looking to build into mid term positions.
With the summer slump in what appears to be a full swing, I believe that it is best to stick with lower time frames and trade for 10 to 20 pips at a time.
Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it

Ok Guys, here is my first attempt at a Word Document setting out the basics of my work in progress together with a folder with the charts mentioned. I wrote this up on my new laptop and hope it gets into the thread OK - I'm not as up to date with 'puter stuff as you younger guys!

You talking about EU I suppose? As it sits in a 3180-3000 range for eighth day already, I"m finding some better trades elsewhere.. Currently long UJ for 101.30's, 101.80's and 102.xx later, Looking to short AU at 9240's for 8830's (very simmilar settup on NZD - waiting for another spike up to short for LL on D/W), Waiting retracement of GU after breakout above 5305 to target 5450's..

Actually I am talking about all pairs. Things have slowed down for the summer. I wish you the best for your trade calls, but I don't think we will see any significant moves unless unexpected data is released.

The first set of data this week will be the EZ PMI numbers, AUD CPI and NZD rate statement on Wednesday. Thursday is German ifo, UK GDP and US Jobless claims. After that, there is not much until next week's FOMC statement, UK's MPC rate statement, Super Mario Press conference and then NFP Friday.

it looks to me like its building a floor for another leg up, consolidation w progressively higher lows. if it doesnt make a new high with current momentum then i dont know

Looks like euro is going to put that 61.8 to the test one last time. At least we'll get some resolution one way or another. Thankfully market doesn't believe in quadruple tops.

My order book is underwater right now, but I'm fine with that for now.

Here's what it looks like

EUR/USD short at 1.3390, 1.3360, 1.3195, 1.3085 and 1.2972
GBP/USD short at 1.5505, 1.5155 and 1.5017
USD/CAD long at 1.0219 and 1.0366
USD/JPY long @ 94.97
AUD/NZD long at 1.1550, 1.1714, 1.1820, 1.1861 and 1.2009
SPX500 short @ short at 1692.4, 1660.0 and 1642.9

Overall I am slightly in the red, but my core bias is still bullish USD across the board and betting on the Kiwi's continued slide while the Aussie corrects.
Also as I mentioned in an earlier post in agreement with RedTeamGo, the SPX500 has no business at these levels and I am positioned for a meaningful correction sooner rather than later.

Last week I was also long spot gold at 1189 and 1200, but decided to cash in and bank the profits as I do not think there is much more upside left before the next swoon.

Today's close is pretty important on my charts. Should be a decent fight.

UJ new "highs" (lows for spot people), adding at 10020, full contract this time

I look around at several dollar based pairs and see they are hovering close to key levels.

I think USD will start to move forward from here on out, and it better, or my book is going to look very different going into FOMC next week.
