Thanks for your response. Your right, i do need to look into being more precise on my indicator setting, thanks for the heads up I am now going to look into this. I have just been using out of the box factory settings thus far. I take it the best method is trail and error? i.e just go through the settings one by one on the currency pair i am trading and see what fits my thinking best
.You made me laugh questioning my novice status, as you are on the ball. I have been interested in this subject for many years, picking it up for a couple months then forgetting it for a while and on and on. The truth is i have never been successful so far or made any consistent money, and this is whats it about in the end. So I still class myself as a novice/newbie.
However lately I decided i need a hobby, so I am trying to pick this up again .lol. I think in the past I have been my own worst enemy and looked at to many strategies and methods that i have confused the hell out of myself.
I guess that was what my last post was about. Using a simple strategy and seeing what people thought! even though different people may be long or short at the same time, no one said the strategy couldn't work, so i sort of taken it as a positive.
Also I am trying to get rid of this 'do or die' thinking in my head. As I am long on gbp/usd at the moment, I have just moved my stop loss up to 15580 securing 40 points. Well of my 150-200 point target, however in the past i would rather risk my whole stop loss 170 points than take 40 for example, and i have been caught out by this more times than i care to think (so stupid i know
). So I guess i am a bit pleased about that at the moment, now just gonna watch what happens to the news due shortly.Anyways many thanks and hope your trades go well.

Momentum still strong isn't it and we are still headbutting that broken weekly TL.
I am watching 5565 area for a possible bounce up (following PA of course)
If we get another hit of crap Pound news, we may get back down there.

Daily candle has closed above monthly R2 (1.563), and this pair is in a range since the open and appears to be squaring off for a rally to 1.574/6 or even higher to 1.582 (daily R3), which I'll see as a false breakout to weekly R2, or TL if you prefer. But then it will be the top, about 600 pips away from the bottom, my average monthly strike. Like previous month, the driving power behind the trend will be exhausted after 600 pips (1.56-1.50 in previous case) and will take a rest.
In that case we have to adjust the pullback target, as the 50% Fibo would be shifted to 1.541. Still in range of my target (1.542-1.538) though.

-Here we can see (daily chart) the up going trendline resisting the price, after braking it and now its coming back for testing!!
-Here I'm using the Andrew's Pitchfork, the price got back to the "median line" and broke it north.
-Here using fibonacci numbers, price already broke the downer trendline at 38.2 fibo, and now the price its above last high (1.5602) at 50% fibonacci!
I bought it when it was 1.5547 i think it will go up strongly with some downer waves..
Success is getting up everytime you fall, faliure is refusing to get up! -F
