I am looking at something very similar in terms of expected movement + price objective in the GBP/JPY

I think Koruda may have temporarily run out of bullets after being "misquoted" 3 times in a row on state news papers... the manipulation is obvious to everyone...

JGB 10 years this morning ever closer to 1%... currently sitting at 94bps... they have more problems than they can talk their way through at this point...

I just read Kuroda's speech, partially a history lesson but thankfully brief. He is laying the ground work for increased financial regulation and supervision, and capital controls. There was no mention of where any controls would be applied. I have not decided yet what this actually means for FX.

it doesn't mean anything in the immediate term IMO.

in the intermediate/longer term (second half of this year/late summer/early fall) this pair is still headed to 110... but i think by then the story will be USD strength rather than JPY devaluation, and it would affect all crosses... keep an eye on US 10T's, creeping higher at 2.14% atm, bond market is starting to price in QE ramp down...

Hi everyone,

My thinking is as follows.

%40 devaluation did not affect export figures of Japan and Japan people will not feel comfortable taking more risk by devaluating Yen more. Because
it does not seem to have any point.

Be careful. They might try other ways and we can suddenly see 98.xx ...

just read the opening remark and really there is nothing that could shake the market as expected. But what struck me were these words "capital controls
and financial regulation and supervision". What do u guys make of it? Is it worth pondering on?

anyone on this thread read/seen something about demark sell signals on monthly, weekly, AND daily (end of last week)??

Big move that you are talking about
man the money guys on TV talking 110 YEN
still the YEN seems to be creeping towards 100 mark
93 is another 8 cents

Thought the YEN masters would be stepping in to stop this happening

I think it's still difficult to say it's reversal, may be short term or medium term. In long term BOJ is continuing quantitative easing meaning that they want to double money supply, also they would be happy to see YEN falling. Hence I would hesitate entering long term shorts, but technically, may be we can target 100-150 pips down, but trail stop or lock profits.

I'm going to wait for a bounce or false break around 99.80 to go long..this area a pretty strong resistance before it finally broke...a retest of this area is needed in order for the up trend to continue
