Disliked{quote} {quote} Bit long since you posted to answer, but I'll throw in my 2 cents for using C++. I've used both Java and C++ commercially in a system simulation environment. I was a code monkey for a system-on-chip/semiconductor verification/simulation company. We used C++ for the high performance simultator parts, Python for the simulator GUI/application surface and Java for a lot of our in-house tools. So Java isn't as slow as it once was, but C++ is still a lot faster. A lot of the gap has been filled by hardware getting faster for most uses....Ignored
