Hello traders,
an update for the USD Dollar Index that can be helpful not only for trading the EUR/USD (52% of the Dollar Index) but also the other major pairs USD/JPY, GBP/USD, USD/CAD and AUD/USD.

We had a sequence a of two traditional measured moves higher: the first with long entry in the 82.30 area with target in 83. The second with entry in the 82.70 area and targets at 83.40 (today's highs). We now have a new (third) long setup in the sequence at the 83.00 area (check the picture below).

The third long setup just traded: support was shown at the 83.01 level. This long setup has a stop, and failure level, below 82.90. Below this level the sequence of measured move is interrupted and we could see the start of the move lower in the Dollar Index (Scenario 1)

Here are my two scenarios, as usual:

Scenario 1. If price comes below the 82.90 level the sequence of measured moves higher on the daily chart ends and price could start its move towards the 20-day SMA (partial targets area). The move could then continue lower after a bounce.

Scenario 2. If the next setup long on the daily chart is respected, i.e. price of the index never moves below 82.90 there is the possibility of a continuation higher into the next target at the 83.60 area (1st target) and even higher.

i see the sign of 6381 down trend reversal.
yes, looks like we will go up in the near future. some pullback to 5000 and then 5200
dont figure out the reasons why, one and for ever if u wana trade profitable read charts. or that stuff not for u.

Don't know what to say about this rally...

Daily chart was giving bullish clues after Tuesday's close, but honestly didn't think a move like this was possible.

A good try correction , breakout & so .will watch next level may tank if not hold this present try , 5135 ,67 & last 5200 & 5222.now limit down goes to 4981/58 for up next & if daily close around 5070/50 then spike only breakout may be .

eu & gold not any great hope still for the try up be success yet. so great may not as such seems , last leg up for further tanking possible .eu chances for targets 2861 or 2770 remain intact .
at least more volatility here with more chance gain or loss.lets see .

Daily showed a hint that a small bottom was in - also talk about USD @ 83.50 being too high....you have to look all around when making a decision.

Good luck if you are still short.....that was a power move up today.

Well I was long from 4940 area and added in 2 more a bit lower bit lower with 2 more trades going for 1.50 area, but stood to lose nearly 15 percent of my account if it found new lows below 4830 on US numbers, so closed out for tiny gain before going to bed.
I went in heavier because I was pretty sure of analysis but then emotional overdrive.

I wasn't arguing with nAV, just expressing my view.

But, if we finish strong this week, then my analysis from a while ago also shows good chance of a bottom.

nope we werent arguing ..i hear yah arnie..was just letting me know what yu were thinking, not once did i think different..thanks god thou it went up and not down..send love right back to u all as well..

faller my friend due to working..i found myself buying as it fell cause i cant monitor trades at all..i thought it was going to fall but did actually see it falling to this extent..tricked once again, but i find myself in sink with my original analysis..and i now have the position better than b4

A potential buy zone.

But not convinced this is a longer term reversal point yet.

That 50 fib held for a few years, possibly not going to be weak resistance.
