I look at the daily chart for trend bias and then the hourly for my entries. I don't know where it's going to go but short term looks like more upside...just building onto my existing position and will exit when I see support becoming resistance.

this is the biggest devaluation of a currency since the FX market began. the speed, breadth, are all the highest ever. this will have affects on the entire global economy..someone has to stop this nonsense

hardly a retrace on the way up...

this what japanese's gov need to do in order to increase export and 2% of it inflation
in my opieion , it will rise till 93.90 and then there will be correction and after that , there will be rally till96 and 97.5 then correction and finally , they want 100 yen with 1 dollar ,
by the way
from now , i wanna be silent and keep myself away ffrom trading .

it wont impact inflation in the long term..maybe short term via imported goods increasing in price..

the domestic spending of japanese people is poor

Regards to DaEdge, RobertFXm brinks and also to moneyhoolic, because they are the one's who were next to me since November and we traded USDJPY since $79 .

Below is a chart from 24.01.2012 with my target and the next is whit the target reached !


P.S: As a bonus i also placed a fundamental analysis on USDJPY that i made one night when i was going crazy in the office ))))

Yep. I got out of this pair yesterday after it broke support, but managed to get back in on that minor level dip.

bases on numbers , usd/jpy will start a heavy bearish trend today . it has already set the high on 93.88 it is 93.33 + 55 pips . u may also take a look at trend lines and time for ur confirmation .
dont lose the coming trend , happy pyramid short trading

What "numbers"? There's no reason for this trend to reverse.

94 putting up a large amount of resistance, eating up 30 points of gain in about 10 minutes. Looks like the bulls are putting up a pretty good fight on the 5 minute chart though.

Morning guys,

Like I also wrote in the Ichimoku thread, the $93.90 level ( which is the 61.8 Fibonacci level of the bear Market of 2007 ) needs to be broken and confirmed in order for the bulls to have power to push to the current 261.8 on Fibonacci = $95.35.

Jpy pairs bullish until furthur notice they have to reach a level where downtrends become way 2 slow . then u can see a retrace sign . higher highs one after each other and higher lows , cause they r in the 5th wave

Good morning traders,

as this can be relevant to trading the USD/JPY pair, I am sharing my up to date view on the Dollar Index (daily chart below is from yesterday's mid-week update):

The 79.90 area in the Dollar Index looks strong resistance at the moment and it's very possible it will be able to contain higher price. The sequence of measured moves higher failed on the 4-hour timeframe. The short setup at 79.90 has targets at 78.50 (1st) and then 77.70 (2nd) helping price into that larger weekly setup's target at 77.50s, which started with the resistance at the 81.60s, in November.

These are the two updated scenarios I see going forward (refer to the picture below):

Scenario 1. Price could start a move lower into the first target at the 78.50 area. It could then continue into the next area of target at 77.70 and into 77.60, after a brief profit taking relief move higher (this is the higher probability scenario).

Scenario 2. After trading down into the 78.50 first area of target price could reverse and start trading higher. This scenario seems less probable at this stage.

Of course we still need further confirmation that the Dollar Index has actually topped in this move. This would coincide with renewed, anticipated strength in the Euro-Dollar cross. Currently the bears are in control of the 15min timeframe and the confirmation of the targets mentioned above and the resistance level would come with price below 79.30. This could take a day or two.

after many days struggling with 94 resistance, it has been a vertical ride down in the past 3 hours to 92.30
