As far as I'm concerned, there is no trend on a 5 min time frame. What minor trend there may be is already calculated into the indicator.

My reason for entering the trade -5 pips from the close of the qualifying candle is that from what I can see there's inevitably a retrace, so why not take advantage of it?

I haven't thought about that yet... but a version of Vegas Tunnel (uses Fib's) is a good place to start if you want to trail a stop.

I'd like to think that my winners will go for 4 or 5 thousand pips tho.

I still don't know how accurate these entries are, I may need to reduce my risk and move my initial stops out more than 13 pips for instance.

The risk on entry will vary from pair to pair also. My silver trade was an example, I should not have even entered that trade (lesson hopefully learned).

you must have a lot of experience trading to not have to see the overall trends, price action, volatility and strength, etc...

what is your overall strategy ?

My eur/jpy trade is now over 105 pips up... stop is still at +3

Nice moves on EURUSD this morning. Now you may ask...why has he buy after signal?? Answer: I am playing Symphonie Matrix in 1M timeframe to catch the swings... I have find that if you have a strong break and it is at begin of trending cycle 1M can give good signals. But BEWARE....this is most difficult to trade!!!

Always testing....

I'll try answer this again... I've been trading forex about 9 years, over 25,000 hours screen time. I've spent tens of thousands of hard earned dollars on courses, systems, seminars, EA's etc etc etc... 4 or 5 years ago I flew from Australia to Dallas TX for a 2½ day seminar that taught me NOTHING, a waste of about $6,000 for the seminar and flights/accomodation (but the beer was free on the airline).

In other words, I've been around the trading block.

Trust me, there is NO system, method, indicator, signal service or EA out there worth paying money for.

I found this thread through researching another thread which I found researching another etc etc etc... in my years reading Forex Factory threads I've only found a few worthwhile.

This is one, and there are 2 or 3 others.

In my humble opinion this Symphonie Trader System is as good as any method you will find anywhere, anytime in the past or the future.

I've learned that it's not a good idea to make predictions/assumptions, because when you do you are reinforcing that belief into your thinking, and that can be disastrous because you will be making future trading decisions based on what you think, not what you see.
