Wamo,

I dont trade EU, but seems like the same double bottom on H1 with EJ.

Just closed long + 83

Absolutely perfect setup, entered on open of 2:25 candle with M5 tape and Genesis arrow.

Over 200 pips today, still pinching myself

Ahh yes, that was an awesome trade. I didn't even look at EJ as I am trying to focus on one pair for this test. Excellent result!

I'm sorry, but, considering Genesis trading, I wouldn't call this a perfect setup, because there was DS1 and Weekly pivot right above the price. Of course, wave analysis was very well, momentum, both stochs were good (I'm not mentioning HTFs).. And now, after the trade is done, we can say it's a perfect trade

Don't judge strictly - just my few cents

Hello Wamo!

Welcome in the boat! I'm also on EST Time and would be interested in your next post, about how you manage those trade in the middle of the night. For my part, while testing on demo, I was waking up at around 2AM and did trade till diner time. I was going to sleep at 6PM. Shower and coffee did help, but I'm sure other trick exist that could make my life easier hehe.

Fortuitously, there are many interpretations of trading with the Genesis system.

As I have regularly posted, I look at HTFs regularly throughout the day, as I am looking for the overiding trends, which is where the majority of pips can be made.

But when H1/M30/M15 all make higher lows (on the same pivot) with all TFs showing very strong stoch readings (including H4) (I am mentioning HTFs).

In my interpretation of trading utilising Genesis sytem, I was extremely impressed with my entry, and analysing the trade afterwards, I am very happy with the entry and analysis.

Areas of S&R like S1,WP, & MR1 are there for price to pivot off and breakthrough, if we waited for all S&R to be broken, you would never enter a trade, which is why I want multiple TF trend and stoch confirmation before entering a trade.
I am a fallible imperfect person; so I must be a fallible imperfect trader.

Hi Martyfish
great trading

Can I ask what's your preferred broker at the moment, with many brokers EJ can have wide spreads

I see I'm sleeping through quite a few pips..... Fame of me....you showed great patience which lasted until you traded out..... I find drawbacks are an emotional changer for me turning me into a fanatical "trade out now!" person or "I knew I should have traded out sooner!" person. It sometimes pays to walk round the garden for an hour......280 pips = excellent. I'm trying to set up a method where I can always leave one unit with stop at BE and simply forget about it.....yeah right....sounds good though.
I guess the creators of Genesis will enjoy seeing how some are progressing and turning green pips regularly. It is refreshing to see how others are doing and to note their special techniques which people like me can try to apply to my own gungho style.

I'm on NY time, and I have a daytime job, so trading the London session can be sleep-depriving. I have devised a means to trade it without staying up in the wee hours watching bars paint (or paint dry, same thing). I keep my trading station running 24x5, on which I have MT4 with the typical Genesis charts for the pair I am currently trading (EURUSD) in the M5, M15 and H1 timeframes.

These are the basic steps that allow me to get some sleep and yet not miss all the good trades at the same time:

1) I have my MT4 email link setup to send to my cellular phone, which behaves exactly like a normal text message. I have ATT here in the States, so I setup the MT4 email (Tools->Options->Email tab) to send from a freebie Mail.com account (which allows sending emails via SMTP) to my cell-phone-number @ txt.att.net (see the attached image below for setup).

2) I enable email alerts on the M5 Matrix (and disable it on the M15 and H1). This will let The Genesis matrix send me text messages whenever there is a normal M5 matrix signal. Note: those alerts do not account for the current configuration of the M5 and M15 stochastics, and that is the reason for the next piece of the puzzle.

3) I keep an iPad on my nightstand that has a useful app installed: a windows Remote Desktop emulator (I forget the actual name of the app but there are many available for the iPad, and I am using one of the free ones). I have configured that app to connect to and control my trading station, which is located on the other side of my house (not convenient for a quick check of the charts). So, with a couple of taps on the iPad screen, I can see the desktop from my trading station, including Mt4 and all that. Pretty nifty.

So, at 3:45 in the morning, when EU is making a run (Genesis matrix signal) I will get a text message on my cell phone, which I keep next to the iPad. The text message sound wakes me up, I grab the iPad, and in about 15 seconds I can see the chart in all its glory, without ever leaving the bed. If it is a bad signal (poorly aligned Stochastics, against a Pivot, etc), the iPad and me just go back to sleep. If it looks like a valid signal, meeting all the criteria for a good trade, only then do I get out of bed and go to the desktop PC. Note: I could install Metatrader onto the iPad, but I doubt the Genesis indicators could be installed. If you wanted, you could trade from iPad based upon the chart you just looked at from the desktop, entirely without leaving the bed. However, I prefer to initiate the trade from the desktop as I am more comfortable with its controls.

Enhancements
Now I will talk about some ways I have enhanced the above to make it even better. The way I am currently trading Genesis is to focus on only the trades that are in the direction of the main trend (over the last day or two) and only within active trading sessions (LO to LC, mainly). I am a professional software developer since 1985 and I have done a good bit of development in MQL (Metatrader language), so I have made some modifications to the Alerts section of the Genesis Matrix. Before RJ or anyone else erupts, I have not touched the way Genesis works from a signaling standpoint or its appearance on a chart at all - I have only tinkered with filtering the alerts it generates after the signals are computed.

First, I added time-of-day limitations to when Alerts could be emailed. I only want to trade London Open to London Close for now (may expand to Frankie later), and I don't want to get alerted to signals that may happen during the early hours before Frankfurt, or late NY. So I added some parameters and a tiny bit of logic that prevents the alerts from being sent via email except during the time periods I specify via the new parameters - basically a From-To arrangement of hours and minutes such as from 07:55 to 18:35.

Secondly, I added a trend alignment limitation to when Alerts could be emailed. I use a simple longer-period MA and only allow alerts to be emailed when price is aligned with the trend indicated by the MA (Above/Below). This MA does not display on the chart, it is only used in a calculation to determine if the alert should be allowed.

Neither of those mods will affect the core function of Genesis at all - only the email alerts. I will be forwarding my modifications to Xaphod for consideration of inclusion into the official matrix indicator should he and the other core team members decide to do so. I do not plan to share it here myself unless requested to do so by RJ and the other core team members.

Here's to more sleep and fewer missed London-session trades!

Edit: For the iPad to be able to control your desktop computer, you will need a home network that supports wifi, so the iPad is on the same network as your desktop PC.

Uh oh, another good excuse for me to get a clever cell phone and an i-pad.... That sounds like a real good idea to me and something we could use here in NZ too. I think RJ and the team will like your idea. I tremble a little at a new learning curve I might have to make with technology and hope I don't join those demented people who end up throwing their cellphone at brick wall!

The only one reason why I made that post is your words "absolutely perfect setup", which it wasn't in my opinion. That's all.

Marty, you have more experience in Genesis (and, I quess, in trading generally) than me. It's really nice that you are able to see and take much more good setups than me. I'm still in learning process and, eventually, that's why you've made more than 200 pips yesterday and I only 40

Thank you for your response!

Wish you to have a nice day and happy trading!

Hi Malouin. I'm a JST trader. Japan Standard Time. My new day starts at 7 a.m. when NY closes and the Aussies get started.
I had been trading part-time for several years with so-so results. The Symphony thread caught my attention, and when RJ started the Genesis thread I followed him over here. I've never met RJ. But I knew of him from the Symphony thread and I liked his approach to trading. That, plus he seemed like a straight shooter who didn't BS people. I like that. PLUS, Genesis is a very good trading strategy, for me anyway. London opens here at 5 p.m. and closes at 2 a.m. NY opens at 10 p.m and closes at 7 a.m. I generally hit the sack around 2 or 3 a.m. I used to watch eight different markets but found myself overtrading. Now I have four, EU GU, EJ, and GJ. Most of my trades are on EU and EJ. To some people this doesn't sound like much of a life. But I'm putting in the time now so I won't have to a couple of years from now. I'll be 60 this year. I've been a teacher in Japan for over 25 years. (Don't ask. It's a long whacky story.) Now it appears I'm too old, I was told that to my face at my last job interview. I don't have much faith in the U.S or the Japanese pension systems. I have no illusions about being mega-wealthy. I don't need or want to be rich. Comfortable is good enough for me. But I am building a business pip by pip. I will follow my plan, and Genesis is a part of the plan. I will succeed. Good trading to you and everyone here.

Finally.....the house sale is completed and the move is completed apart from boxes of stuff all over the place. It's amazing how much crap one accumulates in 12 years....unbelievable. I was ruthless in chucking stuff away....more than 5 cubic metres in fact...lol!

Anyway, I have rested for a few days now.....and I needed it.....but now I'm back on board again. Great to see that people have been taking advantage of the great trends and making pips....that's what we are all here for. Times like these, ( I have been too busy to take advantage of most of it) are the times when you must take advantage.....in fact it's hard to not make a profit.
