i tend to think that Technological Advancements are thanks to increases in education level otherwise we'd be still stuck at inventing the calculator...

stem cells or any other quantics only appeared with the advance in technology nothing to do with brains.brains don't grow inside the head more than it is.

the more techs we have the deeper we can get in a research field.

remember the first watches..they were in the church bell and needed one person to wind it and clean it and whatever...and they were expensive.why? as the tools were big and the parts were big

then came in the jewelers that made the smaller wall watches and then smaller ones the pocket ones then the wrist ones but they did not stop here

why ? tools evolved and got smaller and better so they made nano parts and now there are watches that have no parts at all...at least you can't see them on a naked view.

same with going to the moon or stem cells.

Jules Verne went to the moon 200 years ago and had a submarine but he could not built it in real life...though he had the knowledge.

Leonardo DaVinci had a plane but could not build it and a helicopter...but he only had wood and iron to use for it.

the lightbulb....the filament was made of paper at start and it was burning out in seconds and still was a miracle till months and years later they upgraded the vacuum pumps to make a better void and bulbs with cartoon filaments were burning for up to 50 h...only later they discovered wolfram..but this is just advance in the tools and techs nothing to do with the brains as the idea was the same..no principle changed there.

Iraquis had a battery since BC but it was a bulky one

paintings in egypt show us light bulbs and batteries used 2000 years ago...just tools and metals changed in this no extrabrain was grown...actually if we look at the pyramids all around the world and the buildings and bridges we can see they have same principles only diff materials.

computers were built thousands of years ago on big pieces of stone with holes and pins and threads...making awesome calculations.

as for the stemcells.....well,they knew about them looong time ago but they kept it hidden.

sooner or later they will ''discover'' a cure for cancer as well and again would be a leap in ''knowledge'' but the fact is that most of the diseases already have cures but they are kept hidden or no interest is paid due to no remuneration....AIDS,cancer,MS,autoimune diseases and many more already have cures since the 70's....I use one like this

I live in Spain

apart from States where we all know how things work

here in Spain the first cuts were in education and health...so they are shutting down schools and hospitals

in Greece...same

for me this is all conspiracy for sure

simple fact is that when you become a doctor you have the Hipocrates vow but still doctors have huge salaries and the university is ffff expensive.

so there's no good in the world and no such thing as the govt invests in us.if it were true the med uni would be for free and the hospitals as well..and doctors would be saints

and in all the countries is the same.not only in the states.in the states it is just bigger but in europe it is the same

There's a commonly held view here in South Africa that one of our 9 provinces has been purposely denied access to basic education in order to keep the citizens uneducated. Sounds harsh, but the theory is that an uneducated mass will simply keep voting for the ruling party, without asking the right questions of it's leaders. Scary, I know.

What you say about America is sadly true (now). I know, I live here. But if you think it's "just" America? I'd have to say you're sadly mistaken. What Red is saying holds much truth I'm afraid.

Let's just use the market as a "small" example. If the ones on top truly cared about the ones below, why do we not get all the information they have to work with?

A "highly" educated population is simply a threat to those in control of it. They need folks dependant on them in order to control the direction in the future and insure they remain in power over us. This is what America was founded on. Folks trying to flee that control to have more control over their own lives.

Always remember, a government big enough to give you everything, is big enough to take it away. This why the folks in Spain (and other areas) are revolting in the streets. They are no longer getting as much "given" to them and they're pissed about it. Sadly, America is heading down the same path now.

America flourished when we were a self reliant independant people. But after a few generations of fat lazy people enjoying that sucess with less effort on their own part and it's all falling apart. And even with that being the case, folks from all over the world are still trying to get in here. I feel bad for them as I'm sure it's disapointing to them when they do.

thx for shedding some light on this subject because i've been rather fortunate to have received my education in Hong Kong... school fee are cheap as hell as it is already and education for doctor or medical field though expensive maybe one of the cheapest int he world... oh how i love what the brits done to Hong Kong... and now China is threatening to wipe out the freedom of ppl in Hong Kong

perhaps we ARE getting dumber....

avionics is my field but never worked as engineer.I was only a plane mechanic for Boeing 737 200-400

this is why I said my generation will never be as good as my dad's generation.

It really depends what kind of trader you are. If you are quick and dirty and happy with 10 pip wins and 5-10 pip loses depending on your R/R then this timeframe is for you.

If on the other hand, being a swing trader, you are quite happy to let trades run and can easily switch of the charts without staring at it 24x7, then trading the daily and weekly timeframes is a much better option. OK, so you will see profit (or losses) ebb and flow as the market goes through its natural cycles, but it is something you will have to learn to deal with.

If you are still unsure what type of trader you are, and some can do both, not easy as it requires completely different mindsets, I suggest you find the timeframe that you are comfortable with and stick to it!

Chopping and changing generally means you will not get a consistent set of results and trading is all about CONSISTENCY.
