IMO, If we have a clear break below 220EMA, target should be @800EMA around 1.2230 and if that breaks, we're looking at 1.2170/80 area max move today. Of course unless some high impact news comes out. News seems extremely slow today.

EUR/USD: Bids 1.2250/60, sell stops through 1.2240. Offers 1.2300/10 and stronger up at 1.2380/00 ahead of barrier at 1.2400.

GBP/USD: Bids 1.5665/75, sell stops suggested through 1.5660. Offers 1.5715/25 and 1.5755/65, larger up at 1.5780/00 (tech res 100 day MA 1.5781) likely buy stops through 1.5800

Not a fan of MA's myself, but I'm a big fan of a 50% retrace of moves over 200 pips

There is also a demand zone there, exactly on the 50% retrace, which is my reasoning. Below seems like no mans land until 2130 on my chart, but I don't have my MA's up.

Certainly a little news would be nice

Who knows with Thursdays move, sometimes technicals mean nothing at all.

Well I wouldn't say that at all. Technicals are important for choosing your entries and exits, but I agree they often mean nothing when it comes to direction.

I think you misunderstand me, I'm pretty much only a technical trader, but sometimes you get moves like a couple of weeks ago that pretend to be something they are not, in a way... Those "WTF Moves" I am always unsure of whether to trust the technical signals they give or whether they scream to be faded.

The direction on the larger time frames is pretty much dictated by fundamentals and overall market sentiment (fear/greed). The technicals indicate where price may pause before choosing a direction (continue or reverse). If trading strictly intraday or scalping on M15 and below, then technicals work very nicely with the exception of those times when sentiment is extreme (such as a market surprise / black swan event). It is at that time that you throw the technicals out the window until the market returns to normal. Yes, last Thursday was one of those surprises. Thanks Draghi you friggin goofball.

For Scalping: Did you guys see how PA behaved at the 220EMA and once it held as resistance, PA went down and bounced off the 800EMA right on the dot? Almost like a magnet. Very typical of ranging market for PA to trade between the two EMA's.

also, diabetes, porphyria, malignant hypertension, renal function, liver function, athletic drug testing, confirmation of beetroot or asparagus consumtion (although only 50% in the latter)....

EDIT: must not forget it also picks up malignat myeloma (Bence-Jones protein)

Hi guys,

IMHO . The general direction at the moment is south and I'm looking on the next target will be 1.19230/ 1.18750 provided the PA broke the previous low at 1.20452 and the current fundamental situation no change. It won't happen today, it'll takes days / weeks , time will tell. The best strategy for trading ,entry / exit is to take into consideration the combination of approaches to the Fundamentals analysis, the Technical analysis, market psychology and confluence of indicators. Then you won't be far away from the green pips.

ADD : have to go now ..... to answer the "Call" n 'll be back ....GL and green pips to all.

Funny how the tables turn... and then they turn again.

This year many banking executives will not be getting a bonus, and those that do will most likely get a reduced one.

I, on the other hand, the lowly retail trader, get a huge bonus this year thanks in part to the bozos running Europe (ex GS banking execs) who managed to screw up the markets without even trying... and also thanks in part to my patience and persistence in being a non-believer in the European monetary union's leaders.

That makes the present banking execs really mad. So much so they are about to launch a revengeful plan of attack, and here it is...

The central bankers have convinced the powers that be (The bozos we Europeans elected... and the ones we didn't) to let them have a shot at fixing things. Since banks control governments and free markets (not so free after all) through their most powerful secret weapon (debt), they are going to lull the free(?) markets into a false sense of security by providing cash for debt which they will borrow from a fund that will be funded by the same debt they are creating by pushing a few buttons to supply cash to the borrowers.

What? Yes that's right. Let me repeat it again. They will provide cash to governments in exchange for government bonds. The cash that they provide will be created by the bonds that they are given in exchange for the bonds.

What? Okay now even I am confused. So let's break it down in more detail.

The EFSF has no money. It only has promises to supply the money that will be needed when the manure hits the fan.

So...

1. Spain and Italy will sell government bonds to banks for cash.
2. The banks take those government bonds to the ECB and exchange them for cash.
3. The ECB takes those government bonds and sells them to the EFSF for cash.

Wait, what cash? The EFSF has no cash. Oh yes, cash created from empty promises to provide cash when the manure hits the fan. Okay, let's edit #3

Wait.. So where does the ECB get the cash to give to the banks in exchange for the government bonds? Oh yes, they type a few keystrokes on a keyboard and it magically appears.

4. So now cash has been created out of promises by the governments to provide cash to the ECB, to provide cash to the banks, to lend to the governments.

Excuse my French here but that's just too f**ked up.

The end result is that Spain and Italy are lending their own money to themselves, but they have to pay interest to the banks.

Nice one GS. You've come up with yet one more scheme to rip off the hard working tax payer. How long before you outright own the friggin continent?
