I hear ya bro, I got Aussie and Euro long, did try a long on cable earlier but like the true pair that she is, got stopped out and now she is back to my entry point.

Turtle,

Question about your EU/AU trades and stop levels, if I may. It looks like you entered straight away on the close of the 4H candle following the big surge with stops just below the low of the last 4H candle.

Is your reasoning that after such a big move that price would likely stay above the retracement lows that it came down to during the subsequent 4H period?

Do you know exactly what time and which 4hr candle was his entry? I saw his charts but the MT4 dotted "buy" line is across the screen and many places horizontally on the chart where he could have entered, and I don't see how he got stopped out.

Where is that retracement lows you talk about? If you can point out in the picture.

Bstay2,

I'll defer to Turtle for the answer to my previous question, but here is what I was saying. I've included Turtle's EU chart for reference.

#1 is the candle that represents the "big surge" I was referring to.
#2 is the followup 4H candle where we see a failed attempt to push above #1 and also have a "retracement low" established. As you can see, the stop is placed a few pips below this low. #3 came down the wick of #2 a bit and then proceeded higher.

I didn't say that he was stopped out. I asked if my reasoning was correct as to why he placed his stop below #2. Also, the buy line corresponds with the open of #3 so I inferred that he bought on the open of #3 which would be 5:00 AM EDT.

Hope this helps...

To clear up any questions on the EUR/USD, I bought at the close of the 0400 candle, which would have been 1:00am EST. Entry at 1.2575, s/l 1.2550 (thanks 131).

Reasoning, it was above all my LTF MA's. A close above both 4HR 100 and 200SMA's is bullish to me. I usually have a 50 pip s/l on those HTF's but wanted to keep it tight. I figured if it breaks below those MA's then we are headed back down to around 1.2500.

My plan was that if the s/l was hit, I would put a PO to buy at the same spot knowing that if it did come back through I would be picked up to go higher.

I went long on AUD/USD within the hour, I wanted it to clear the 1.0150 line, which has been weekly resistance on my chart.

I did close both trades out at the end of the day, because I drew a Fib on the 4hr and 38.2% is at the same area, plus PA will confirm whether we go higher or not.

Right now I will wait until Sunday to see how things play out because EUR/USD close right around the 38.2 but there is a TL is has to overcome.

Hope that helps

FYI...still short from above.

Took an EU short here at 2655 based on the constrainment at the 35SMA and 10EMA. S/L just above these MAs, 1st target at the 50EMA.

Took half off @ +13, moved s/l to BE.

Hitting the bed, will check back around the 4hr 0800 candle, unless I'm still sleeping.

Trade well everyone.

Oh, what a day.. my youngest son was playing with the bathroom tap before school, and managed to break it, so it was gushing water like nothing else, so I've spent the day looking up how to replace the taps and fitting them (so far, so good). But I hate DIY! There's always some problem that crops up and you need a special tool to get it- It's never straightforward!

So not much trading- I did take a long on Euro and cable before all of that that grabbed a few and got stopped out on euro, but cable's still running as well as Friday's long. Might look to reenter Euro again soon around the 1hr62 as there's also support here

Took an AU short here at 40. After news we got a close below the 35/50 and recent swing low and the 15M TL. Took the short on the retracement back up to the TL and swing low area. May not hold for too long depending on how things play out.
