I went to college to become an engineer in 2004. I was interested by networks. During my first year, I had to become an intern in tiny company, I met a great guy who told me that the tech bubble bursted in 2000 and that we were in another bubble and that I should prepare myself in order to profit from it.
That's what I'm still trying to do, after re-orienting my college major to economy. I've been trading +/- since 2007, EA trading since 2010 and I believe I've finally put together most of the pieces I need not to be a loser when the bubble come crashing down this time.

I also want to add to current income as I work in health care.. started fx trading in 2005. graduated in finance in 89. There was not much in the type of exchanges (or the internet) for fx back then. Originally thought it would be easy to make big $'s. boy was I wrong for awhile. . ...Been ea trading last 3 years. Very hard thing to program the market designs but doable. Love the action and the game; but can't stand live trading by hand...I think ea's solve that for me....I think a good manual trader needs to have an eye for it. Like a graphic designer with big balls.

I started because I want to multiply my money to stop being an employee and open my own enterprise, till now the only I have multiplied is my losses... After 6 months in demo and other 6 months in real I'm still feeling like a beginner.

Now I'm out of the market till I discover how to become consistently profitable, even if I only win a 0'5% per day. I prefer winning a little during years than blow up another account in a month...

i think we all went through the blown account stage. i sure have 2 or 3 accounts but it was like $300 all up nothing major, enough to know i wasnt ready to go live at that point. im now live again with consistent profit. buts that another story altogether.

wide range of backgrounds here on ff its awesome knowing i could be chatting to someone on the other side of the world trying to acheive the same goals as me.

Marketers give traders an unrealistic picture about the potential income or a promise of becoming financially independent by working 10 min per day. They make it look like hedge fund and pension fund returns are very small to compared to the opportunities waiting in FX market. Traders are expecting to make 100%, 200%, 500% in few weeks. All the above should sound at least suspicious to a semi intelligent human being. But with my experience I can say, I can’t expect huge amount of money at least for 1 year at the beginning.

Everyone comes to the Forex market for a reason, ranging between solely for entertainment to becoming a professional trader. I started out aspiring to be a full-time, self sufficient Forex trader. I want to make myself a professional trader and intend to earn huge amount of money. But it is very much hard to become "just a forex trader". Forex is very much tough business to do. You can't gain easily everything you want. You have to be always careful and control your emotions.

Yes, emotion is one of the most common enemies here! When I was a new Forex trader then I was unable to control my emotions, but eventually I have learned how to control my emotions and greed! In addition, now I am also on the way of success!

I started trading a long long time ago... 15 years ago on and off, almost half my life
A mate introduced me to it and I just saw the potential to make some quick money. Boy was I wrong about the quick part and also the lot of money part. I lost what I considered to be allot of money at the time. This led me to learn as much as I could, probably too much. Course after course, book shelf full of books, system after system and thousands of hours of screen time. Aventualy when I found myself in the right mind set and life was going well it all just clicked. I must be a slow learner, or at least the market made it seem that way. Now I trade one very simple set up over and over again, have a second system in testing which is also profitable. Have been growing my account quiet rapidly for a few years now and I don't even get excited about it. Some of the time trading is a chore like any repetitive task at work. I needed to get into a state of mind where trading wasn't number one in my life and I wasn't concerned with every trade and every pip.

I started based on a recommendation from a friend who thought I would be good at it.
I had low expectations since I didn't believe that a market could simply be manipulated by herd mentality and a bunch of lines on a chart.
I'm pleasantly surprised at how much fun it is, and intend to use it to pay for my university expenses.

We all are here to add some income to our wealth position. However; I have started currency exchange trading since 2016 and I have engaged in forex trading as a part term trader. As a student; I am getting full flexibility and better freedom to trade from anywhere and at any time. I have started trading when one of my friends told me about forex trading and I just tried with the demos for 6 months. When I get interest I had started trading with smaller amount.

I didn't have grand money expectations from Forex. It started like a hobby which I like, then trading started to bring me the money.

Such an underrated thread.

In my case I was interested in stock markets very early on in my life.

Like many newbies my intention was to get rich very quickly in forex markets.

I was inspired by reading some success stories of people who got rich in stock markets such as warren buffet, george soros, nicolas darvas,Wd gann etc and some in forex as well.I than decided to give my hundred percent attention to the forex, options and stock market before 3 years and i learnt many things along this journey it was exiting, adventurous with many ups and down until i started getting hold of it.
No one ever Discovered anything new by colouring inside the lines.

I started trading because i wanted to be rich in short time like most of the newbies. But you face the reality when you actually dive in this world.

Well to be honest the lure of additional money is what got me started in forex trading. I did not have any fancy ideas about it though. Knew better than that thankfully. It started as a hobby and even today I trade only part time. I don't think I am adventurous enough to take up forex trading as a full time job. My primary motive behind trading was money but over the years I realised it has turned me into a more disciplined and balanced person. I am happy for it though, despite the ups and downs.

A good friend of mine introduced me to trading, and after some research I decided to try my hand at it, because I decided it was a good way to make a profit. The rest, as they say, is history.
