GU: So Sonicers, aside from the 3 hour diversion down and back executed by the BBs to load up long, this is still in play. Again the price is in the EP zone of yesterday's SonicR long setup. Take caution if you enter, or have entered, regarding your SL. My SLs are mental on all my outstanding trades, and you can see why from that 3 hour whipsaw. It might not be the last of such moves we see today, especially since the US BBs have not yet come to place their bets on the table.

AudUsd long.This time i tried to focus on volumes: What i saw is a volume spike at lows with stopping volume, with a consequent low volume retest of support as hihlighted in the picture below. Every comment is welcomed as usual

There is nothing juvenile about complaining about a Broker restricting your market access, that is horse shit, period.

If they want to "protect" people, sure, send them an email to warn them, that is a great service, agreed.

Scalpers make a living of trading volatility, what they are doing is WRONG. If people actually need "baby-sitting", then they should not be trading in the first place

The forex market opens on Sunday at 5pm EST. Oanda is restricting from Sunday 6am EST until Sunday 3pm EST. Do the math! The restriction ends two hours before normal forex trading begins! All this BS bitching is bogus! They are only trying to help! I seriously doubt there is anyone here that has ever traded between Sunday 6am EST and Sunday 3pm EST,....because they can't! The market does not open to retailers until Sunday 5pm EST. And some brokers, like IBfx, don't open until even later!

Now maybe some "special accounts" have access thru Oanda to place special orders during "Off" market hours. I don't know. But certainly not likely any normal retailer can. So, normal retail traders here are complaining about nothing,...they apparently just haven't realized that 3pm EST comes before 5pm EST! Oanda sent out the email to everyone, even if they do have "special accounts" of record, because the warning about the possible gap in opening prices for the new week does apply to everyone, obviously. So Oanda is being helpful, not restrictive, to its normal retail clients.

Here is how a "real Broker", acts; no silly knee-jerk reactions, rules and restrictions, just a nice warning. (Yes, I realize the restriction is before normal market hours for most, its still wrong in principal bottom line). This Broker expects people can "take care of themselves", and don't need diaper changing from their Brokers

I got this email:

Jayjonbeach, Oanda IS a "real broker". If you want to go to task on this, then anyone could take the position your broker is just being a snot nosed wimp, making sure everyone knows it has no responsibility for whatever happens!

There was no need for anyone to complain about being restricted from a market during hours they never have been able to trade in anyway! This was just an unthinking, kneejerk reaction of a negative vein and totally uncalled for when the broker was simply giving a "HEADS UP!". And yes, in capital letters. Traders should thank God for such action on the part of their brokers. Those that do not have such considerate brokers, and have no knowledge of this topic,...well some are going to start next week peeing in their pants!

Too bad it is just a part of human nature that some folks are all to quick to complain about things, even before taking the time to think them thru. Personally, I think folks are usually better off thinking before reacting. And also always looking for a positive aspect in whatever comes.

Yes, Oanda is a Market Maker, and take the other side of your trades. 98% of Market Makers are crooked, and want you to lose (and have ways to make sure you do), since THEY WIN.

From what I know (and could be wrong), Oanda is one of the only possible 'trusted' MM's, but I sure wouldn't trade with any MM in principal, no thank you.

Nonsense! When you make a trade, right side or wrong side of PA, it was your choice, not Oanda's! So, if you lose come new pricing at the beginning of next week, it was YOUR fault, not Oanda's! And Oanda certainly can not have any input of influence to those liquidity providers for the market, or to the market makers. Oanda is representing themselves professionally, and with due consideration of its clients. Anyone thinking otherwise is, frankly, thinking stupidly.

I was trying to point out they do not want to loose a valid customer due to a stupid a irrational trade during a very volatile time in the market, so they are looking out for their customer, but they are in the business to win over all in the long run, otherwise why be in the business at all. That was my point TAH.

Then your posts are supportive of Oanda? Good! That is the way they should be. No respectable business wants to lose customers. We should expect such a business to provide a "heads up" to customers in face of possible extra-ordinary forthcoming circumstances. It is just good business sense. And, of course, they must be profitable or they would vanish. And with them would go the opportunity they provide us to trade the currency market.

Traders might have reason to complain about their own broker in areas of disadvantageous spread and fill manipulations. But not about a broker giving clients a valuable "heads up." If a broker is abusive in other areas, the trader can switch brokers. And the more abusive some brokers might be, then the more room other brokers have to be more competitive and still make a profit.

You speak as though you are working with them. If most brokers want their clients to loose, then our respectable Sonicdejaay would've quit Forex long time ago. I would've quit too.
