Nobody has answered me about the volume indicator. What reading do you check to confirm a massive sell is going to be happen ?
I notice the white reading or red for the 100% increase for a buy signal but I do not find any white or red for the downtrend.
Can somebody tell me a bit more, I never used any volume indicator in Forex.

Zen4x, the volume indicator does not give a "....reading...to confirm a massive sell is going to....happen." In fact, I know of no indicator of any kind that will confirm ANYTHING is going to happen in the future!

Sonicers, as traders, the sooner you accept that there is NOTHING you can put on a chart that will reliably forecast, the better off you will be. Technicals (indicators, including the actual price bars) denote history, and that is all they denote! Technical analysis is about finding certain PA patterns that tend, more often than not, to be followed by moves of a given direction. That is the basis for any technical trading system, including the Sonic R. System.

If you are looking for something to do with your money associated with guaranteed results, buy a burial plot.

I was comparing that volume indicator with the market faciliation index and if you overlay the two you can see when there is a price change and at the same time an increase in volume using MFI.

As I said I never worked with volume at all in Forex so It sounds news to me.

Is this a proper entry accordind to Sonic R system rules? i entered GBPUSD short right before LO with a wave down at the break of the trendline. SL on high of the large scale movement ( round number 1.5600) TP conservatively before RDL. The trade is now -40 pips, but i'm holding short, maybe i should try a breakeven close? I'm tryng to learn, i just want to know if this is a correct entry according to the rules or if i made some mistake in the interpretation of PA or Volumes. Thanks

No, this was not proper entry, primarily for two reasons. And there were other considerations, too.

Firstly, there was no M15 PA wave for a short trade where Leg #1 extended completely down thru the Dragon (contribution by Basber).

Secondly, you entered before the LS (London session) began. It is recommended you enter a trade only during the LS.

Another consideration is, had you studied more carefully the relationship between price and volume you might have seen the early asian down thrust to achieve lows garnered more trading interest than did the later highs. Volume charting can differ broker to broker, but this is what my chart showed. And this can be an indication the market is bullish. This showed up on the M30 chart, too.

Finally, you used M30 as your trade chart and a larger PA wave that began the previous day for your setup. There is nothing wrong with doing this. However, in this case the larger wave was indicating one thing, and more recent PA-Volume was indicating perhaps the opposite. Your trade ran for about 25 pips before PA began consolidation during the early LS. That consolidation time at the lows, together with the PA-Volume story, was a clue that price might be setting up for a reversal.

Sometimes good looking setups run only a small distance and then stop or reverse. It is a fact of life. And it is testimony that no matter how exacting TA might be, the BBs always have the upper hand by being able to suddenly put money behind moving the price in whatever direction pleases them instead.

Thank you so much for your reply, it's always an opportunity to understand better what's up "behind the curtains". When you talk about relationship between price and volumes, you mean that i have to be aware of the difference between hi volumes in Highs and Lows of the price? I mean, am i right if i say that i should consider a high or a low MORE reliable if i see a volume charge in corespondance of it?

A "qualified" yes. Qualified because you cannot reliably make that determination immediately after the close of a bar. A high volume bar might just be a pause to be followed by PA continuing in the same direction. The determination must be made some bars later, and the more bars later the better. Sonicers do not trade based on any "immediate" price-volume story. We look to see if any story exists in recent PA that might be a clue, so that if/when a SonicR setup occurs we have that extra information to help evaluate. In your case, recent (early asian session trading) did provide a price-volume story that indicated the market was possibly bullish. And into the LS there was no valid M15 SonicR short setup.

This is how Sonicers need to collect information and evaluate before trading.

Apparently (from PA-volume story) "GU has been suckin' it" because the BBs favored to push the price low and buy down there. The opportunity for a SonicR long trade seems to be vanishing with the close of the LS. Could a "surprise move" to the upside occur in the 2nd part of the US session? Who knows?

OANDA is halting trading on Sunday until 3 pm EST due to the Greek Parliament elections. If you don't trade prior to 3 pm, it shouldn't affect you. I suspect though that OANDA is going to widen their spreads even after 3 pm until the dust settles.

Oanda & Any Others Closed Sunday

It has been posted that Oanda will be closed Sunday until 3pm EST, for reasons of anticipated market high volatility, including possibly sudden very wide spreads from liquidity providers.

Sonicers, don't be negative about this. First off, how many of you actually trade between Sunday 6am EST (in the morning) and Sunday 3pm EST (in the mid-afternoon)? Most brokers don't even open for new week trading until Sunday 5pm EST. What's your beef?

As far as the reasons stated by Oanda, understand that they are providing fair warning in advance that come the open of new week trading (Sunday at 5pm EST), prices could be radically different from the close of this week trading at the end of today! Oanda is both providing fair warning and giving its customers time to close positions ahead of whatever might transpire over the weekend to create havoc with forex opening prices next week. What more would you expect them to do? They certainly are not going to eat your losses for you! So, grow up and be appreciative of their fair treatment of their clients.

I do not have an account with Oanda, so I personally have no motives here but to encourage positive thinking instead of the nonsensical and juvenile reactions being posted.
