But yeah this situation is very strange, the snb say the estabilishment of a mininum rate is not like press a button, intending that they will not raise the peg for long long time.
The market however is supposed to be free, if they are not going to bring this baby up, the market will bring it down. They're playing with fire maybe

i am at 1.2040 mid also not the best...

but see:
risk of breaking the floor with normal broker is like 5% or less..
now who enters market couldn't go better..
for 1 lot it is about 270USD for margin and you leave another 300 for going down
return is 1100USD in year only on swaps if it stays this way if it goes up...

being a bit more realistic I wouldn't forget the totally f@&Đed up trade balance data this week and besides the KOF was above 2.00 (!) for first 7 months 2011, the massive deflation (CPI 0,2% in Japan compared to the Swiss it is -1,00% yoy) opening champagne for 0,4 KOF maybe premature

One more risk is that your broker will reduce swap.

#SNB going from bad to worse. Jordan states that Switzerland will not introduce negative interest rates. All Jordan is accomplishing by idle talk ,and even idler action, is to BUY SWISS FRANCS. Introducing negative interest rates is EXACTLY what might ...actually weaken the Swiss Franc and help eliminate risk of deflation. But no, that's too "unorthodox" for the SNB and Jordan

It's very clear. This 1.20 peg will remain there all the time. Actually, this is the point of equilibrium in Swiss economy. If the economic context will change drastically (economic imbalances), then SNB will take actions but don't expect even then to raise the peg. They have other methods too.
I don't see anything spectacular happening in the next 6 months for this pair coming from SNB.

But it does not make sense to keep short positions as well.
The SNB will not let the price go below 1.20.

Only the bucketshops could print a price below the 1.20 spot by widening their spreads but this would not benefit the short sellers.

It is only healthy that people will give up their position right now so that a normal trading can develop again!

imo most of traders goes bankrupt if they give up their current positions so normal trading cant develop this way. just think about it, there may be a lot of traders who used all the available margin which is not a wise thing, but well-known 'strategy'.
