ZURICH (Dow Jones)--Swiss National Bank interim vice president Thomas Jordan is likely to be confirmed as head of the Swiss central bank on Wednesday by the government, the Neue Zuercher Zeitung reports.
Jordan, who has headed the SNB since former president Philippe Hildebrand resigned in January over a controversy involving currency dealings by his wife, has the backing of the central bank's supervisory board, which met Friday, it said.
The most likely replacement for Hildebrand on the SNB's three-man governing board--currently made up of Jordan and Jean-Pierre Danthine--is Fritz Zurbruegg, now head of the government's fiscal administration division, the NZZ said.
