The EA follow the rules in post #1.

You must draw the Fibo as per your own vision of the chart.

Hi. Please tell me if I am doing something wrong, but the EA appears grey in the navigator window, which MT4 help says means it isn't compiled correctly and EA can't be used. I've not used any EA before, so I am a bit dumb in this field.

Thanks.

The ea is compiled fine. When it's in grey it means that it is an ex4 file which cannot be altered. The code can't be viewed of changed. It's fine to use.

To be more precise, when the icon is blue that means that both .mq4 and .ex4 files are in the folder ... and if the icon is grey that means that only the .ex4 is in the folder.

Anyway, the .mq4 file isn't needed to use EAs/indicators in the platform.

I trade all available pairs but my broker has pretty low spreads. Eurnzd is around 5.5 pips, my previous broker was 15!

In the attachments of this thread, some are .EX4 and some are .MQ4. Shouldn't they all be .MQ4? How else do we modify?

You don't. There's nothing in the code that needs changing and if there is you can just ask the person who originally coded it. (who is an awesome coder by the way)

I've been playing around with the zigzag indicator to see if it helps define the trend a little better and it does look quite good. I think it is better to drop the sma rule and just use the zigzag indicator that comes with metatrader under custom indicators. You can change the first setting to define larger or smaller swings if you want. I set most of them to 15 but needed 30 on eurusd to define the swing I wanted properly. You can change it as and when you want to so it's not exactly curve fitting, you're just changing it to the conditions. I've attached my current charts. I am concentrating on just a few pairs for now until I get the time to set up the rest. You'll notice I've drawn some trendlines on too, handy for defining the trend.
