Just curious. Let say we borrow $1,000,000,000 from SNB. If interest rate negative, then how to calculate the re-payment table for 10 years?

1.58660 14.12.2008 it was High and Green.
Then hit 1.20928 on 01.06.2011.
Then straight down to hit 1.02710 on 10.08.2011

SNB intervened at 1.12 and straight up basically in 10 minutes to hit 1.20000.

If euro goes below, merkel and the euro are doomed.

Good afternoon all,
Interesting that we didnt close above 1.2100, maybe we see the 1.2050 level again, there I will add to my long position. We are making higher highs on the daily timeframe. If the SNB don't intervene first I see the 1.2160 first then 1.2198.

I belive it tagrets the negative rollover, so if you want to be long the CHF against any other currency you will have a big overnight charge, then the SNB has to aim at keeping the CHF crosses of their concern at or near no volatility to force those longs to sell the CHF... does it make sense to you ?

I'm with ya adding to my longs if we see 1.2050 again or lower. Eventually eur/chf will start and keep going back up be it SNB intervention or much longer-term CHF weakening as SNB predicts. About the only thing that gets me abit antsy is the current Greece situation as that could go real bad later today if Greek Parliament doesn't vote in the affirmative to agree to Euro austerity measures.

Just a guess...

Pending for the settlement of Greece's second bailout, SNB will not intervene the market as the potential risk is too high. If Greece can settle the argument today, EUR may break 1.33 level and rebound, will SNB takes this opportunity to intervene the market in order to take advantage of the market force?

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Last week’s inflation data in the Swiss economy have shown that deflationary pressures are far from over, prompting the SNB to take further measures in order to protect the domestic exports sector, among others, largely affected by the strong franc. The prints also undermine the central bank’s estimates of a slowly increment of the prices towards the first half of 2012.

M.Mohi-uddin, Managing Director of Foreign Exchange Strategy at UBS, thinks that the peg of CHF 1.20 per euro should be eventually lifted, as the Swiss franc remains overvalued at the current levels.

The pair has climbed from 1.2050 to 1.2130 after the comments by the SNB’s interim President T.Jordan last week. He stressed the bank’s commitment to defend the floor, adding that a breach of it would be “intolerable”.

“We remain concerned though that if CPI deflation worsens…then in the second half of the year….the 1.20 floor target is likely to be raised towards 1.30”, he finished.

EUR/CHF's recovery was limited at 1.2127, below mentioned 1.2132 resistance, and retreated. With daily MACD staying above signal line, there is clear sign of short term bottoming. But, there is no scope for rebound yet with 1.2132 resistance intact. EUR/CHF would possibly engage in range trading between 1.2 and 1.2132 in the near term

We'll see what kind of PA this 2060-area gives us. If this barrier holds, we'll see a new run up and have a new floor. If not, test of 2020 again...
