My Friend I have been in the fx market for Several years now...I caution as a result of being a Yen Trader.

The only person buying is BOJ vs the major HF's that are selling,
Again the validity point which Real Jumper made is yes 300 points up move could happen...but rest assured interventions are not an easy catch...if they were in the last 2 years you would be a billionaire..

Historical lows mean nothing....the spike out value could have you within mins..its a caution...

I am new to this website and new to traders community too. Have been trading for a month only and would appreciate some guidance. I have gone long at 76.31. Haven't put any SL. Is the position ok? What should be SL?

If I was you, I would close that position right now and then stop trading. Then, open a new demo account and go here and do the entire (free) course. There is some valuable information there that will help you not lose all your money.....which is what's going to happen if you carry on trading now.

You may be lucky. We might be about to see a retrace. If price gets to 76.31, I would close and watch.

hehehe..actually we not trade before the intervention it is more dangerous..thats why just use buy stop it is more safe...

That poster has no business trading if he has to come here to ask where his SL should be placed. He needs to learn to trade and come back next year....or.....carry on and lose all his money.

Can you see anything telling you uj is going up except rumours ....
Everysingle upmove is getting sold into....

I cant get the reason for anyone to go long on intraday unless they are swinging in hope...

Also those expecting intervention...There is a specific way to trade intervention....Market timings have to be taken into consideration...

Sells will take lesser times than buys to make profit in the current climate

Good advice to the trader long...RJ

Hey there BW,

No, I can't see a single reason to be long here......my last supporting evidence for a possible long was the divergence, but that has just invalidated itself. From here on, I see nothing to support a long entry.

As you say, swinging in hope is what is happening here, but entering a trade on 'hope' is a fools game. I would rather miss out on a trade than to trade out of hope!!

The BOJ rhetoric hasn't yet reached the level where intervention is likely, and I suspect that they are waiting on NFP to give some direction. The last 4 interventions have been at around 1pm - 1.30pm (my time) so I have been able to jump on each time after the initial upmove retraces, and it always does.

There are many opportunities on other pairs at the moment, so trading this pair is really not neccessary.

I must come and visit your thread again, I do enjoy the quality of the posts there.

I missed it too!. It began about 15 minutes after I went to bed (finally) at 3am!! I was almost certain that the drop was coming, but because the talking heads at the EU summit were still running their mouths, I wasn't keen to put an order in. Never mind.....plenty more chances coming

Looking how actively last week went and this week again we end up expecting some action from BoJ and just going sideways and who knows for how long.

That's right.....and if you happen to miss the intervention circus. about all you'll miss is a quick 200 or 300 pips. No big deal.......we can make that in a 2 or 3 days on other pairs so it's really not worth stressing out about.

So.. USD/JPY about to break 76.00 level.. i guess Azumi will start watching FX closely very soon and goona say they won't tolerate this rapid YEN strength......
