Answer can depend on your trading time frame but what i used to recommand when i was managing trading seminars years ago and this question was always asked was :

Once you have a decent profit exit half of your position in profit and put a stop at BE+1pip ( just to get a profit on that remaining position in case you are stopped)
If you get stoped you still have a winner , if not you can make a lot of pips and more important you are confortable following the position because you know that whatever happens you have a winner.

So is waiting time, from open need 6 - 8 hrs to get some sort confirmation, I trade opens often, rr is good prefer all below :-) or all above :-( but very nice to scalp until confirmation minimal risk, for nice return, not pick bottom not pick top, just nice simple level to defend, add everything else you have, and only take optimum entry, and perservere, pb and hold partial as long as can

Going nowhere, ranging from one level to another. Getting close to yesterday low, anyone thinking a downside break possible on Asian trade?

I dont usually trade this pair, but seems like a good buy off support, although the 1hr chart suggests it will range today before a breakout (hopefully north )

Yeah, I would move SL a bit further later. Meanwhile, I keep my stop just above Asian high, just in case a double bottom formed earlier.

@Gdragon: I think upward move for Asian session should be limited to 1.312xx level. BTW, where did u get those number?

the biggest factors here are


how will the SNB maintain the floor? by buying Euros? and selling franks?

how will the BOJ intervene by buying dollars? and selling Yen?

The BOJ creating demand for USD will bring down the Euro, and put pressure on the SNB.....both buying up the Euro, will bring up the price of the Euro..........coordinated action?

How will this intervention happen?

1.3050 and below will look like a bearish formation

while 1.3080 and above will be bullish.

1.32 so far is been the resistance which needs to be passed if this correction is to continue. and if we in fact trade below 1.3050 then we can expect to zig zag our way to a bearish continuation.

the EZ factor also is the PSI, ECB and the agreement on Greek haircuts.

QE is easier to forecast now all we need is to watch the PCE for what the FED considers a good inflation target 2%, and as they say deflation will not be allowed so if PCE seems deflationary QE can be expected

Just look at the chart and tell me what you see, I see a textbook definition retracement of the larger trend, question is, is it wave B or C

its pretty clear by looking at the charts

equities and yields up

they are not selling as you can see. What they will do in the next second i don't know

BTW, since US dollar is hitting key support, and close above it. Upward movement of EURUSD pair in respect to weakening USD stopped for now, in fact I expect that this support level of dollar index would produce a slight rebound and push EURUSD lower. Maybe we should see a test of 1.300xx support level today on EURUSD pair.

if you are thinking of going long you have different options

one would be to buy now and put a SL below 1.3050 which is risky, or wait for clearer direction either below 1.3050 sell or above 1.3080 buy?

right now the range is 33 pips

usually we have < =>120 pips a day so the move has not happened yet, by average range 1.3013 or 1.3137 are likely targets,

1.31 is important as is previous support.....turned resistance? if we do trade above 1.3080 it is likely that eventually we see >1.32 by logic

work with that.

USDX is reactionary to EUR/USD not the other way around

USDX is an index of USD performing among the major currencies of the world with 58.6% weight on the EUR/USD i believe

Yes i agree with you, but we must be carefull with the SNB action to buy euro because now ECHF is in 1.2xxx level
a few month a go SNB say that they will do an unlimited intervence if the echf reach 1.2xxx by buying euro. This strong buying action can make Euro flying to the sky

i am aware of that i posted this a little bit ago.

but then again SNB will probably wait till the 1.20 is violated otherwise they would just be feeding the speculators, maybe even let that 1.20 be breached for a couple of days and then surprise intervention, they do not want to feed the pigs, that is for sure otherwise if Speculators don't feel the pain, this will be ATM machine style, force it down to 1.20 am boom make some cash.

i am thinking maybe waiting a couple of days or weeks below the floor then boom, crush the suckers for attempting to bet against the SNB, would be a better strategy.

i think that is why the BOJ is acting the way they are acting they DO NOT WANT TO BE TIMED
