EUR/CHF bounced from top of the downwards channel.. price must go above 1.2115-1.2120 to break it.

Soros on the SNB cap….

Would not speculate against SNB currency cap…!
SNB can print as many francs as they like to keep the cap

I've found this
"There is a 1.2050 option expiry for the 10am ET NY cut tomorrow (Thursday, 15:00GMT). EUR/CHF plumbed a four-month low eight pips shy of 1.2050 yesterday, with the subsequent climb reaching a one-week high of 1.2109 earlier today (during the European morning). Option barriers are located at 1.2050, 1.2025 and 1.2000 (SNB minimum floor). There is also a 1.2000 expiry tomorrow."

I am just wondering whether this can be one of the reasons for current EURCHF level? What do u think?

I think that the SNB might not be acting because the indicators that will come out tomorrow will be negative, sort of what happened with the JPY this week and their trade balance, I hope I´m right that would give us at least a couple of hudred pips but I´m sure it won´t go up to 1,30 or even 1,25 after their anouncement tomorrow, any thoughts?

I do not expect that tomorrow KOF will be worse than expected. I would not be surprised when it is even better (lots of european PMI's this months were better). I do not also expect any EURCHF reactions. Much more important is CPI data and foreign currency reserves - will be published February 6.
Still 'wait and see' tactics from SNB....unless they are forced to interevene to defend 1.20 when broken.

I don't understand ,why EUR goes up against many currency except CHF ?

On EUR/CHF chart since new year, when EUR/X goes up it goes up too but when it reaches 1.21 ..it goes down,even though EUR/X continue goes up. Like someone don't want to to goes higher than 1.21 level.

Anyone can tell me the reason ?, please.

Even though the EUR/CHF is capped at 1.20 , there is no cap on the other CHF pairs the USD/CHF for example has been moving lower for a couple of days now. The CHF is still considered a safe haven currency and whenever there is risk aversion there will be demand for it .

EUR/CHF: Time of week to be careful again

Yes there are big bids at 1.2050 and yes the SNB has again reiterated its intention to maintain a 1.20 peg in EUR/CHF, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the monstrous stop-loss sell orders below 1.20 are safe!

Is it possible that on a Monday morning, stops get triggered below 1.20? Is it possible that the full market opens way below 1.20 and causes a big ‘margin call’ event? Is it possible that the SNB don’t have a firm bid at 1.2000, but decide later in the day to drive it back higher? Answer Yes to all.

Sorry if I sound like a Nervous Nellie, but we’ve all seen these things happen before, so be careful!

it is usulaly happen if central banks start to interupt!!

looks like waht happen to usd jpy....same like eur chf

interuption from central bank is actually slow the movement of the curency!

they can do at 1.20 ( 1.2023>1.20) ok but should not hold type, a glitch . will sell it to more down again .
1.1847 can be the best level to start & hold to have trend change effects if wants to .
