lets pretend this makes sense and the ECB holds the toxic assets, to whom will they unload the risk, and who pays for this?

here are some basic economic principles these "GENIUSES" are forgetting.

MONEY= vehicle of exchange

WEALTH= goods and services provided by a country

MONEY is not equal WEALTH.

money is the vehicle through which a society distributes those goods and services.

THE FED
THE ECB

possess no real wealth, no real assets, they simply print more money

more money viz a viz goods and services= inflation

for every expense there needs to be an equal income to balance the books.
expenses greater than income becomes a deficit that needs to be paid for either by some one else or by future income from borrowing.

what the Geniuses of the world in the Central banks like the Bernanke, and Draghi they believe they can somehow stop time, by taking toxic assets, and preventing fraudulent institutions from collapsing simply by printing money to purchase these assets

but a purchase is an exchange of goods, it can be through trade or through future exchange. example i purchase shoes i give you money which is suppose to hold the value of the shoe so i can unload it somewhere else to obtain an equally valuable good or service.

poof magic money does not fit the definition of this.

they are screwing capitalism and distorting real demand and growth, first by robbing the population from purchasing power, secondly by allowing these frauds to occur, and thirdly by trashing the confidence in the system they seek out to protect.

It's obvious who ends up paying. The only group who doesn't have a say. The taxpayer. But it won't Be in the form of direct taxes. It will be massive devaluation , driving up commodities into hyperinflationary levels. It's all part if the endgame of Keynesianism

It sucks and the ones who pay are the ones who never saw it coming

First, the ECB, despite protestations to the opposite, is in fact printing money at a rate that puts the Fed to shame.

Remember that bit about changing the collateral rules and the low interest 3 year loans? Which was followed up by over 400B euro take up in December? That money was basically printed, and it was all done just last month. And all the buying of debt on the secondary market going on since 2010? More money printed. And yup, they are debasing the currency.

As for how the ECB will deal with the debt? Inflation is the best option. They print money and buy debt. This money, now in the real world creates inflation. The nominal price of the debt remains the same, but it absolute value decreases in exactly the same way that the absolute value of money decreases. So debt that is 100% of GDP becomes 50% of GDP in a few years, and with a few years more it becomes 25%.

neat trick huh? And does it work? You bet. There are literally dozens if not hundreds of examples in history. A couple are the massive US debt from WWII and yet again from the cold war debt of the 1980's. Any questions about why the USD has lost over 95% of its value? Can it go wrong and spiral out of control into hyperinflation? possible but not actually that likely.

As for the fraud issue... government sanctioned activities (like murder) are perfectly legal provided you have the right laws in place. But no doubt the fellows that bought the CDS are feeling hard one by and use the word fraud with some frequency.

Those that emphasize the situation of the taxpayer don't quite understand that when the taxpayer has had enough there will be a revolution of epic proportion that will change how we think and transcend the transgressions of the "old guard".

REVOLUTION is the only answer. Not revolution against any particular governmant or philosophy but revolution against violation of the natural order of things.........This I can discuss or debate with any rational human being.

Every answer should be based on reality and not leveraged power over another person,people, or country.
Starting now............. Why do we have hunger in the world? Why do we have hatred of one another over religious beliefs? Why do we have hatred over skin color?

The world functions out of scarcity instead of abundance! There has to be a paradigm shift for humanity to evolve to our possibility instead of accepting mediocrity.

This coming week will be packed with earning reports and high impact economic releases. Here are what we’ll be trading this week:

  1. Tue January 24, 2012 – 8:30am EST – CA Core Retail Sales
  2. Tue January 24, 2012 – 7:30pm EST – AU CPI q/q
  3. Wed January 25, 2012 – 4:30pm EST – UK GDP q/q
  4. Wed January 25, 2012 – 2:15pm EST – US FOMC Interest Rate
  5. Wed January 25, 2012 – 3:00pm EST – NZ RBNZ Interest Rate
  6. Thu January 26, 2012 – 10:00am EST – US New Home Sales
  7. Fri January 27, 2012 – 8:30am EST – US Adv. GDP q/q

The key this week will be on the FOMC Interest Rate Decision and the US Adv. GDP for the 4Q 2011 figure. Although there is very little possibility for FOMC to announce QE3, traders are certainly prepared to act on any new Fed actions, therefore it is going to be a very well-watched report.
