Guys, I never said I use it exclusively cmon! I said SOMETIMES it's a good idea when I'm not sure.

If you don't believe me go look at VennD's posts and how many pips he's making per week. I'm not going to pump his tires but to prove a point go ahead.

Yes fxrising you're right, cloggie may be able to see the trend so he wouldn't ever have to use the idea lol

The whole idea is that you don't know which way the trend will prevail at S/R so once it does you can un-hedge and keep the "right" trades open which will statistically overcome the spread/commission you take to place the hedge's. Maybe follow HH/LL till it breaks and get out.

Also I didn't say I am using it, I usually switch positions on my signals, but I'm saying it has some merit, don't discount something if you don't know about it. You didn't even think twice, you heard the term hedge and said meh, well that's what makes people lose their edge over time as new minds...
Sardar Jee, One needs to catch atleast three big trends to be consistently profitable by hedging. However, if one is lucky can get lifetime earning by trading just the first trend.

Yes I agree that their credability has weight, but there should be reasoning behind opposing an idea other than "think about what you are doing" and "be honest with yourself"... Vague answers like that deserve the response I gave I thought... just wanted a logical explanation from someone more experienced maybe.

Trading is simple, it just isn't easy. The biggest thing in a new trader's way the biggest obstacle to success is the trader himself, and it is really hard to tell yourself to go take a hike and not come back for a year while you figure this mallarkey out.

I see dozens of them lying to themselves here on a daily basis.
