Yeah, I hear ya, ThisPip. Seems the way to go is catch the market off guard first...then an announcement. Then again, who knows. I suppose anything's possible. We shall see.

I scare maybe this intervention would be similar to BOJ, just 400-500 or more pips spike and after that no new floor. So, be careful for that situation and return trend.
Does anybody think maybe it happen?

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The pair is making fresh highs after the announcement of the swiss monetary authority due at 4pm GMT. The market consensus is a lift in the peg to CHF 1.25 against the single currency.

The cross is trying hardly to revert a 5-days negative streak at the moment, with the euro zone concerns as the main drivers in the pull-back from recent values in the 1.24 area.

The strength in the swiss franc has been lately a great concern regarding the outlook of Switzerland’s economy, hitting hard its’ export sector.

The fresh news changes the whole picture for the pair, advancing as of writing 0.32% at 1.2311
The support levels are at 1.2238 (MA 200d), then 1.2212 (low Nov.7), ahead of the psychological level of 1.2200 and 1.2130 (low Nov.3).
On the upside, the first hurdle stands at 1.2292 (high Nov.25), 1.2317 (high Nov.24), 1.2354 (high Nov.23) and 1.2388 (high Nov.22).

who knows..we will see. Too many experts can't see a intervention even if they stand right in front of it.
One thing can be said. risk reward for shorting this pair is not valid anymore.

A new EUR/CHF floor cannot be ruled out Bayern LB says, amid market talk, which SNB declines to comment on, that the central bank is meeting today and may later announce an increase in its EUR/CHF floor. "I doubt that something will happen today, rather at their quarterly meeting on Dec. 15," says Bayern LB trader Roland Raczek. "Of course, a fresh floor level, say at 1.25 or 1.3, will be more difficult to defend, but they have a reason to act as the Swiss economy is under pressure and as political pressure is rising again."

I just spoke to the press departament of the SNB, official comment is "no comment", i asked if they can deny an intervention, he again said "no comment". Very nice Gentleman, pointed out the official quarterly meeting coming up yep.

My personal guess: New floor level for sure.

in hind sight i may look like a fool, but if i would have to bet i d say
1.23 minimum floor, then 1.25, then 1.30.
