missed the train, patiently waiting for an entry point.. hope it gives 3450..did manage few pips from 3520 area

Tried that PT even tried shutting down the computer and re-starting it but no luck. Sorry to be asking it here but no other thread has this much activity.

Equally excellent post. Technical analysis does not only give you a snap shot of price action in any particular instant, instead, it gives you a solid indication of momentum and the likelihood of price direction in the time frame that is being analyzed. It is ideal for shorter term trades or scalping and it is also invaluable for longer term positions. I also agree with AaronWard´s opinion that you can get most of the information from the price action itself, but among other things, I am an instrument rated pilot. When in the clouds I can and probably would survive flying by the seat of my pants, but I am most likely to survive if I fly by the instruments. The indicators are the instruments of a technical analyst.

Glad you like it. I started doing it just so I could create a framework for price every week... replacing old assumptions with new ones. But then I discovered that certain of these lines became extremely important. Price would hit and bounce like a ball hitting a wall.

The key problem with S/R is that some work and others don't. But this way I can wait for price confirmation that they are important and then exit/enter as appropriate. Also, what used to look like random price movement is starting to make a lot of sense. For example, right now we are bouncing off of the year's open.

It's a sad state of affairs but it's not as bad as it could be. Europe is still very strong. It just needs some structural changes to get it back on its feet. In the meantime, it is getting a well deserved spanking.

US rating unaffected by 'super committee' failure-Moody's

Moody's Investors Service said on Wednesday the credit rating of the United States was not affected by the failure of a U.S. congressional committee to reach an agreement on deficit reduction.

Moody's has the U.S. rating at the highest level, Aaa, but with a negative outlook.

"Although the committee could have proposed considerably more than $1.2 trillion in deficit reduction measures, which would have been positive for the government's creditworthiness, its failure to do so does not decrease the amount of deficit reduction already legislated," Moody's said in a statement.

Thanks, I appreciate your comments. I still am long and expect to make a solid profit in the end. I was stopped out but reopened long positions at support. I still expect a strong rebound before Friday that will break the upper wall of the wedge and return price to the 200SMA at around 1.37 in the next two weeks. Only if the lower wedge wall breaks or the RSI makes a new low will I move to the short side again. It is important to continue to believe in what has worked for you for 25 years.
