I believe gold will take a big hit when traders and investors are forced to liquidate what they can to cover margin calls. Once that is over, then and only then would be a good time to buy gold... not now. (my opinion)

Supercommitee was set up to fail from the get go.
Pelosi choosing members et cetera,
Not the end of the world and a cut in the spending end result.
The American people will have to choose how the Nation goes forward.
Market response, will go out there and suggest nothing.
Focus still remains on Europe where the fracture event becomes more likely everyday.
CB's will be tested as real world market forces take out the put barriers erected by CB policy.
Like to see 1.3400 give way this week then add shorts on retrace. Weak bear model of entry....

About government, i was just wondering the whole banking system could control everything in respective countries, then what is the need for them.
And i know i would watch it again, could have missed something.

Things that bug me - maybe this is crazy or impossible - but as I noticed, the more foreign debt the country has, the worse (for example, Japan has huge public debt, but noone cares so much as only small part of it is foreign, so average Japanese holds some part of his/her country's public debt). When we look at public debt imbalances, there comes an idea, if EZ banks holding toxic assets would agree to just 'swap', by exchanging bonds of the same value, and changing foreign bonds into their countrys bonds, then wouldn't situation look better? I mean, if government would need to come to rescue the bank, it would repay its bond earlier instead of buying bank or guaranteeing it any other way. As a result, debt would be reduced and bank saved... at the same time.
I think, that this sound beatiful, but probably the problem with such transition is just that noone in Greece would like to exchange French bonds for Greek ones. And the interest rates on each country bond is different.
But if such moves would be plausible (enough many volounteers to exchange) wouldn't it make outlook more positive?
Just being curious, as it itches me since I made the whole mad idea up
ADD: Sorry that I do not have too much to say about EURUSD right now, but I am still waiting for it to go even a bit above 1.36 (but still below 1.37). But for some reason EUR is not going anywhere (at least not too far)

ADD2: Sth serious - when I look at commodities, they seem to be saying "Hold your hats, giant waterfall ahead!" If commodities dive, then EUR might not stand the overall market risk-off sentiment.

Risk-on sentiment harms USD. Risk-on sentiment wakes up when we get good / very good US, Chinese, or "country-that-is-currently-concerning-the-world" data. As simple as that. In addition, USD gets harmed when QE3 babbling is heard. However, good US data can help USD (or at least not punch it lower) if QE babbling was present recently in large quantities, as good US data invalidate official US QE3 plans.
Never forget about hidden stealth QE's, when Fed lends USDs to some other banks / CBanks in large quantities. It is suddenly spiking the supply...

Another billions of trillions of info to master await. PT, What do you think about crazy idea of exchanging bonds and attempting to decrease EZ countries foreign debt by changing it into "internally owned" debt
Why would that not work? (I assume It would not, as if it was to work, sb would come up with that much faster than I did).
