Hi guys

I am a bit concerned on all the publicity the Swiss Franc Strength has gotten in the Media in the last days. Of course SNB has to point out again how independent they are, which is good, but therefore they down play the problem just to appear totally self controlled and immune to political or economic pressure.

It is like in wild life, the predator goes hunting in the dark and uses
the element of surprise. Right now it is very bright light so no hunt.

Have to wait and see how things develop. The way SNB has to communicate
is very tactical and strategy oriented. Because the biggest assets they have
is Independence and credibility.

Hi I am new to the forum. Here is my analysis of the pair.

Have been waiting for the price to touch this year's opening price. Weekly chart suggests that the year candle could remain a black candle and prices could reach level 50.0 next year before coming down.

Once D1 shows possibility of a black candle for this month, then i would enter a SELL. Looks like, it would take a week or two before that confirmation.

Hi forexintel thanks for your input.

The last few days we were making money on longs, trading the anticipation.

In 45 Minutes there will be a speech of SNB Chairman.
As for now, we get a lift off back up to 1.24 because markets hope for a
step down of Berlusconi this afternoon. (lack of majority in parliament)

Of course, some of us also plan on catching the next intervention and therefore holding some of the longs bought way below.

No big bull reaction after the drop of this morning

Since the SNB needs a sound reasoning for beeing able to maintain a new ceiling it was important that something fundamentaly changed.

With the resignation of Berlusconi, the SNB has much more chances and a good reasoning to maintain a higher Ceiling/Peg. Good news on that, let's see
how things develop from here. Also, this certainly takes off a bit from the pressure EURO is having.



@Doc , this you have to decide yourself, however, with Berlusconi resignation, our cards have improved.
why don't you take partial profit and let the rest run.

think we all have to sit tight and wait, the intervention will come, but when?.

Keep watching for the lows, and taking the longs, 20 to 60 pips at a time, keep your buy stops in place, and wait.

Mr. Jordan from the SNB lost me a bit with his comments but anyway in my opinion the floor has been spelt out in September and that is the back stop for now.
Right now price is trading in a battle zone (see chart).

if no interventions by this week, bull will lost momentum to gain more than 1.2400 .. by next week market opens will @ level lower than 1.2300.. that is what i see.. just a stupid noobie opinion btw.

Big news headlines of today in Papers offline and online in Switzerland,
very high Politician is pleading to raise EURCHF ceiling.

-Sees very little economic growth ahead
-40 000 job cuts possible

Waiting till that hits the wires.

“If the SNB at some point feels that the deflation risk has increased relative to the September assessment, raising the floor is pretty much the only instrument it has left,” Beat Siegenthaler, a currency strategist at UBS in Zurich, said by e- mail on Nov. 7. “The likelihood of the next quarterly assessment being more downbeat and resulting in the euro-franc floor being lifted has increased substantially.”
While most companies have welcomed the SNB’s decision to impose a ceiling, the Swiss Labor Union Federation, representing about 380,000 workers, said Oct. 18 that the central bank should raise the ceiling to at least 1.40, describing the consequences of the currency’s ascent as “dramatic.” Hans Hess, head of Swissmem, the nation’s largest lobbying group for manufacturers such as ABB Ltd., has said the franc threatens about 10,000 jobs.
Swiss companies are already cutting jobs and moving production abroad to help protect earnings. Novartis AG (NOVN), Europe’s second-largest pharmaceutical company, announced plans Oct. 25 to eliminate 1,100 jobs in its home market and create about 700 positions in low-cost countries such as China.
