Almost 5 am here.
Nice day so far... made average of 50 pips news trading. And wanted to point out that price did go up again... I'm wondering if by US open it should go down again... Unluckily, I won't be able to figure it out.

EFSF document bond buying guidlines........ Guess they ain't gonna be buying Greek bonds!

This does nothing to "rescue" anyone.
It's all headline induced trigger happy suckers buying into this.
That's fine. Let them buy all the way up to 1.39 or even 1.40. It will just make the fall all the sweeter for me
ADD: Unless I see some concrete plan before Friday at NY lunch, I am placing some heavy shorts on the euro and I will leave a small one over the weekend.

they are putting a cushion under the euro.
1) get big buy orders lined up
2) release juicy pro-euro news items on the wires & twitter
3) shoot the juice to the moose & turn it loose (ie, "juice" = usd)
4) rinse, repeat when another 100-pip pop up is needed
Sounds about right
But how long can they keep rinsing in the same dirty water?

It's all ridiculous. One of the commenters on the site you linked suggested that if a sovereign or bank meets all that criteria, they why would they even need to go to the EFSF. Good point.

exactly what we did in stocks when we needed to dump them.we shortly refer to it as PUMP & DUMP lol

But I guess that a country that has the first two of the points doesn't have any major trouble selling their bonds on the market?

Very subjective.
However my guess is, regardless of what the benchmark is, Greece definitely does not qualify.
