shit..... just found my long at 76.50 was stopped out at 76.15..
anyway, not going to trade this pair now, seems like it has more room to down.

Great, It seem that you learnt this nonsense SL for yen pairs at current historic lows levels from many junky traders here..SL at 76.15 4 pips from today's low..nonsense
Hopefully you had done the same with Chf pairs..hahaha

All of you here talking about if BOJ intervened or not without seeing Chf pairs intervention.

BOJ surely didn't intervene for this small number of pips, it is clearly some banks or hedge funds
We saw the same spikes several times especially for Euro/Jpy & Gbp/Jpy 100 to 150 spikes in few seconds and for several times in 1 day at past as I remember at 108-109 for the first and 125-126 for the latter.

Didn't you see the intervention in Chf pairs, started at begin of today daily candle with Usd/Chf, Gbp/Chf pairs collapsed around 150 pips then spiked in seconds to above the collapse point, this was a film test for what again happened from around 20 minutes with another spike for Chf pairs with around 200 pips spike from intervention.
Hopefully Yen pairs role would be next, but I see that maybe BOJ would wait till tommorow early hours after FOMC Statement by some hours to judge the situation then intervene.

I found it funny how he was trying to come off as a professional trader while saying not to use a stop. A professional trader NEVER risks his account like that. What if price makes the craziest spike down and takes out your account? Then you could never contend, appeal, or take legal action against your broker. Or what if price goes down to 65 and takes 3 years to get back to 80? Traders have commited suicide for blowing their entire fortune on what they felt was a 'sure bet'. Most people who blow an account never think they are going to when entering their trades. It's setups that seem almost assured that end up costing the most in the end if you're not careful.

That's right man....did you see the huge spike in the CHF about 10 hours ago?.......no stop loss can attract mister margin call in such circumstances.....that's why I'm pleased that this clown is gone.

Anyone following him is going to lose their account sooner or later.

1.UJ pairs would starting going up now from 76 level without see 74-75
2.UJ Pair would see 74-75 first before going up

I've stated that I think it will go down to 75, but I honestly have no clue.
My reasons are long-term trend and what I believe is a plethora of stops at 74-75. I think the almighty powerful (whoever they are) will want those stops. I'm also thinking BOJ may want it to hit 75 to get in better position to weaken the Yen.

However, I can also see this thing going up without going further down due to fear of BOJ action. I also see a scenario where things begin to appear to look better for the world economy. In that case, fear would sudside and risk appetite opens up sending yen up.

Again, if I had to choose... I say 74-75 first. So put my vote down for option #2.

That doesn't mean anything with regards to my response. 150 pips down is below 75, so what's your point?

Yes, I think it's more reasonable to long UJ in the long-term considering we're at historic lows, but that's not the question being asked.

The standard kind of intervention will not do the 'weaken the Jpy' trick. It will undoubtedly have its effect for a few days but most certainly not on a mid to longterm basis:

- bad numbers don't even cause a dent in Jpy strenght
- every single spike has been sold with ease last few years
- uncle Sam want and needs a weak dollar to inflate his way out of the mess he's in
- at least some sort of QE3 is hanging in the air
- Swiss is out of the picture as safe haven
- Swedish and Norwegian krona are to small to serve as safe haven
- Eurozone has huge difficulties making strong decisions, too many voices and opinions resulting in chronic indecision

The 'Swiss trick' is in fact the only way out for Jpy, however, I don't see them doing just that. So, in short, we might see a spike up due to classic intervention, but I doubt whether it will have a lifespan longer than the last one we saw early August.

I agree your opinion. My charts show downtrend for short term and long term. So, it is not a time it push up..
