Yeah, I heard speculation of that yesterday afternoon. That's why I posted that ISDA link re the CDS (non) fallout from a technical default yesterday eve.

Yeah I think that this was a major stick save by Ben, the timing of this hint was pretty suspect. Tricky needed some back up.

As to whether QE3 is possible.. It would be VERY difficult politically, but this is roughly when speculation about QE2 began last year and that culminated in September launch. Its funny that similar events happened this year as they did last yr.... spooooky

pki, nobody knows for sure where the market is going. people have different strategies, trade different TFs, etc. You being short and he being long doesn't make any of you right or wrong. Many times I've held through pretty hefty drawdowns because I knew my TP was going to be hit (knew like 70-80% that is), and while the other side of the market was booking profits I was waiting for my turn. It's just the way it is. In my opinion all calls are good if in the end they bring pipos and pipettes into the bag.

And the only other thing I have to say is that while the posting of the box person was going on a few hours and many, many pages back, someone mentioned "talking heads" re speculation on QE3. I'd post this properly if I knew how, so I'll just imbed the link (who knows? maybe that will be proper).

of course. i understand that. noone can predict the market. however, what i tried to point out is... would it make sense to buy at the res or sell at the support? sure, s/r can be broken, but i would do the opposite and it seems logical having more winning trades that way. one more thing, although markets are open 24hr doesn't mean you can take trades 24hr, imo. there are times when market moves, and when consolidates.

but then, who am i to point out these things? everyone here is winner. lol

My 2 cents.

The 1st thing I would recommend is choosing a TF. You can't trade every single S/R area (or in "forex and FF" terms, supply and demand) in the markets. Aim for a decent timeframe. The longer the TF the stronger and more valid the area.

Second, don't make the technical tool the only reason in your trading plan (like a lot of FF poster that think S/R is the holy grail") but incorporate in you analysis for direction and use it as filter to WHEN to look for a trigger.

Third, Not to trade but for your visual perspective open a daily or weekly or even monthly chart. Mark the last 5 or 6 areas (that will cover a few years of information) and try to see what happened in those areas, mark your points and make your own conclusions. What happen in a break, What happen in a fade, etc ,etc .

Only after, start looking at shorter TFs. H1 is way too advanced and complicate to read if you are just exploring these concept for the 1st time. If something click in the process check again what do you think of 4500....4373....and 4229.

Finally, post you comments on the thread so we can exchange views...
