In this video they talk mainly about gold. But I like what they also have to say about "safe haven"-status of currencies, and particularly switzerland:

Missed this today, I don't normally trade the news but since the swiss news came out this morning its dropped about 300 pips, gutted I left for work just after 8am as well, just got home though made a nice 45+ pips on the eurusd.

Intervention has not happen yet and that is to me a sign that the SNB is brewing something in the back room. The best interventions are the ones coming with great surprise and the longer they wait the more I think it could be something very unusual (in accordance with the Government).
Its will be a "WTF" moment such as when you tension a rubber band too excessive till it snaps in your hands, the rest we all know.

haha, yes ok. Lets see.... We had such a ca 1500 pips intervention during a few days in march 2009 I believe?... Was an incredible effort for SNB to move the market like that...

We might see something like that.... but really... where would we be then? 1.33-1.35? Where we were only just this april ?

If SNB intervenes they have to do something REALLY dramatic to catapult the pair back above 1.5 at least...haha

I will laugh for 10 hours in a row if that really happens this year.

So you think SNB will come with something other then buying EUR?
A month ago, i was reading about idea of a parallel currency. Kind of golden CHF?

Until the pair it is exhausted with it's downtrend, the SNB can't intervene properly in the market, because it is a small entity against all the other entities. Maybe in the summer or early in the autumn will see some dramatic change in the bias with large corrections.

inflation and even hyperinflation totaly makes sense if strengthening of CHF continue at this speed...

I believe, like already mentioned, the SNB is too small by it self to intervene successfully. Because every mayor central bank on this planet have their own problems I would neither expect any help from them. So what's left to stop the inflow into CHF? Remember the Swiss are independent, they do not need to please anybody neither the US or the EU.
Anyway lets concentrate on who is buying CHF :nerd:.

USDCHF - The ratio of long to short positions in the USDCHF stands at 4.23 as nearly 81% of traders are long. Yesterday, the ratio was at 4.05 as 80% of open positions were long. In detail, long positions are 4.3% lower than yesterday and 4.5% weaker since last week. Short positions are 8.1% lower than yesterday and 16.7% weaker since last week. Open interest is 5.0% weaker than yesterday and 1.5% above its monthly average. The SSI is a contrarian indicator and signals more USDCHF losses.

This scenario is going on for more over one year: retail traders are long USD/CHF and are regularly BEING SLAUGHTERED AS THEY ARE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE TRADE.

Just a look at that 10 yrs chart makes me dizzy!
I don't know what will happen and I surely don't know when, but I'm kind of sure it will break speed record from 1.xx to ~1.50
