Nevertheless, I gonna long it if it drops to 80.xx (small lots) or it gets back to the long train.

The only thing they will need to be importing en masse is Oil, and according to my research theyll need at least 150-200k bpd (barrels per day).

I'm not arguing. Why are you arguing? All I was doing was pointing out what's going on, not what I think will happen which is what you are doing.

What is going on right now:
Repatriation of assets
Liquidation of USD based assets to regain Yen reserves to finance rebuilding etc emergency funds etc

What will happen and what the BOJ has announced:
They have announced an intervention in the Forexmarket, they are prepared to intervene if the yen gains to much in strength.

BOJ intervenes = USD/JPY goes UP = Dollar strengthens because a strong yen is pretty bad.

If you are not understanding this concept you should stick to technical analysis.

dude in this particular scenario a stop loss just kills you , the market is too volatile for stop losses imho, it all depends on your equity if you have enough and you dont overleverage your on the safe side just always keep in mind it could go down to 75, even if it goes down, to this level (80-81) it will come back again (but i wouldnt bet on this with a 1k account and 1:10 leveraging, only 1:1 or 1:2 leveraging).

guys, how don't you get it. it is over for Japan. economy is gone! tell american person that your brand new Sony TV set and Toyota comes from Japan, fueled by atomic particles!! radiation in Tokyo? who would think to work there now? what about fixing the energy problems? radiation stays for thousand years, if its there, will stay there for good. I see massive emigration, do you know any other island? horrible disaster.. though many opportunities for us.

lol...the US dropped two atomic bombs on two cities and they are doing well today...do you think a little leak in a nuclear plant is going to have any significant effect in the long term? Buy up the yen while it's at a discount

It is not quite so. Not differentials, but broker's decision define rollover charges. I mean to say that it's entirely up to a broker to decide which charges he will ask or pay, if any at all. No obligatory formula for calculating the value and thus a big variety in real swaps being used.
Interesting to see ppl are continuing buy yen. I can only see the the risk of 'de-value' and 'intervention' are extremely high. good luck

If you buy AUD/USD to take a more clear pair, you receive interest on your AUD long position and you pay interest on your USD short position.
As interest on AUD is a lot higher then interest on USD you receive a positive rollover every night which in principle is exact the interest rate differential. Maybe you are right and there are some differentials between brokers, but I can't imagine they are large because then they would be out of bussiness very soon.....
