I am afraid that the UK interest rate rise is not as impending as you think it is. It all hinges on the prelim GDP figure that will be released in less than 4 weeks time. This week's PPI figures show that CPI and RPI figures that will come out in 2 weeks time might be lower and the UK economy is still too fragile for the BoE to raise interest rates at this stage with a double-dip recession a real possibility. Housing market has stalled too and with 70% of mortgages on variable rates, it won't help that market either. I do see a rise in interest rates this year, but later rather than sooner which is what you are implying!

Personally I think we will see 1.55 before we see 1.65, but I could be wrong! That pinbar on the daily does look very bullish!

Weekly close printed bearish engulfing at 16080.
DTL from 5 nov 2007 - 14 jul 2008 meets LTL at 16080.

Daily close printed a bullish hammer....4hr.printed bullish, all lower time frames printed a slight change in direction.

Could this have been due to the release of news re Japan or a retrace due to supply around 16075-16085 which i had posted earlier on Fri.?

Thankfully, Fudomyo is safe and well. A gentleman and one of my favourite senior members....thoughts go to him, his family and friends and everyone suffering hardship and loss. Really brought it home to me...the thought that a very helpful Senior Member is caught up in all that and the relief when he posted and swore at some insensitive person on Eur. thread.

I'm still bearish but as always will grab whatever i can take whatever the direction.....even sideways.

Edit...i've just seen some excellent fundermental assesment on Redswords thread..Orbital and bbakker.

hello

my long term view for this pair is this

long with TP's at 1.625,1.643,1.70 and 1.784

short term we still might have a 1.5940-50 but I would not count on it yet.

Something i just picked up on from Redsword11....

Momentum last Thurs... UP from demand erratic .
Momentum back to demand on Fri. powerful.

I find the mirror correlation to cable invaluable.
Just wanted to share this in case some of you were wondering why Fri. long on cable was so easy.

Its not always so...lol!

5970 good support level
i think if start of next week price will close below there some h1 or better h4 shud be time to short till lower trendline
last time in these levels had a good fight n did not cross support line.
shud hold again but im ready also to short

Rather than use one of my posts to try to make a point, i feel it would be more appropriate for you to post your own chart with your own reasoning.

My reasons for requesting that you should do this is that your reasoning has nothing to do with mine. It may simply be a case of different data feed .

I see no support at 16070 on any time frame . I see a minor level of supply.I could quite well be wrong but would rather that posters can see me being wrong without you clouding the issue.

For the sake of clarity on this thread would you please, if you wish to respond to my posts , use the post reply button ...not the quote button.

sorry i missed your posts where you were sayn not to use "quote" button to answer to yours. were them to me? i dont remember if i already quoted some of yours in the past! anyway i need to say that i can't see reasons for this, but also say that i obviuosly respect this n i will never "quote"

i was trying to say on that "quote": i agree with what you say about fast time frames pattern n weekly pattern n bullish n bearich etc.
and weekly candle make me thinkin on the possible short, if loose 5970 support, until lower trendline.
sayin this need no chart.

One member wants QE, three members want a rise in interest rates, five are sitting on their hands. It all depends on the economy, inflation and GDP figures but my belief, with the current economic status, is that there will be no more QE and interest rates will rise by the end of 2011. A lot can happen between now and then, that can change this and assumptions are the mother of all fook ups. Be flexible and keep an eye on the FF major news releases for GBP as these figures are what the BoE look at which determine their decisions and read their MoM (http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/publi...2011/index.htm) to gauge their thinking.

You have so much information on this web site ((http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/), it really is worth spending some time on here to get an understanding of how the UK's Central Bank work, because the CBs are the biggest players in this market!

Due to US and Canada Daylight Saving Time shifted so their news will be released 1 hour earlier than usual schedule. Just be careful.

For FF calendar indie user, some of older version doesn't work because of some changes at FF server. I found this one from other thread, works fine all news in 1 chart.

EDIT: Make sure the 'Allow DLL import' is ticked

i think you are 12 hours ahead of UK?
i see that your beautiful new c. chart is showing slight direction to north...i quickly plotted and it looks to be aiming for 16120-128 which coincides with DTL on 1hr chart ...these patterns are fascinating.

We are 7 hours ahead of yours, its 8.30 pm now.

Yes it could go to 6120 - 6142 - 6174 then a tough to crack would be 1.6210.
But if she rejected on your DTL we'll see 1.6000 again with 1.5990 is a key level there imo.

Tomorrow morning (my time) Tokyo still the hot issue due to their effort to stabilize market. To some extent this will affect the others.
