When commodity prices go up is imho because people put capital from USD to commodities, so yes, inverse relationship in that. But is it directly correlated to Australian dollar?

The US dollar is paired up against the Aussie.

Dollar up = Aussie down.

Which in tune makes everything against the aussie go up. Everything is correlated and related.

True, just I would be using commodity indices instead to see the capital flows. Im probably wrong, just my opinion. Because a lot of the time currency can lag behind the changes in indices.

One of the adjustments I made yesterday was to limit risk per trade to 2% of trading account. This allows me to trade 2-4 mini-lots at a time which I like to do so I have the ability to scale out since I can't do partial closes. If I can move my stop losses to BE or better, that releases the 2% for another trade . . . . does that sound about right?

Honestly, I really have done heaps of research - but this is the real world now and I'm open to learning anything I can . . .

don't believe nothing you hear/read on the net. we are all just trying to separate you from your money. pull up some charts and make your own judgment.

with regard to commodities, oil is about the only thing going up.

Patience my friend. That 1%-2% is already way ahead of the curve of what most of us have already done (smoking account after account because of high leverage).

It takes around 1-5 years (3 years avg) for a trader to finally become consistent and understand what in the world is going on.

Focus on making good trades, and take money out of the equation. If you do this, the money will come as a side effect of making good trades.

Nothing, and I mean nothing can be substituted for screen time. (experience, if you will)

Correct. BUT stick to one pair at first. Learn the moves, look at the world, subscribe to bloomberg business week, futures magazine, etc. Read up on corellations between currencies and other markets, learn the factors that make them move, and stay low until you start feeling good about your trading decisions, dont just look at indicators and make your decisions strictly on that. Try to understand why moves happen, such as go back throgh your charts trying to find out why something moved as it did. Follow economic calendar, politics, and you WILL gain invaluable knowledge as to what you could expect in the future, who can and cannot play with interest rates and such.

low vol shake out yesterday , do you like buying cars at discount or do you offer above asking price ?

160 pip move off lows of a low volume down day.. in asia to boot ..who has upper hand bulls or bears ?

and us markets dropped what 2% and all eu could manage is a 50 pip drop of a 160 pip range day . I would say bulls have control for now.

but what do I know other than how to scuba trade ..lol
