Indicators lower tf , H4 qqe about to break 50, rsi broken up 0, ao about breaks 0 . H1 tf qqe up remain and rsi,ao up . weekly broken 50 before & hold , no cross over yet but daily giving warning cross 50 down though actually not seen.

So after good up the daily may cause enough retracement or down resume , who knows . 3635 target up keeping for safety if breaks up now & seems minimum reach today perhaps . thought not think it should stop breaking the flag for more pips next .in that case as wave c of bull set up should go 3750-3820 before down for unreliable , short to bigger wave before breaks up the previous top or fail at top again 3861.so to see bear reparcation for failure a diamond swing failure , similay disaster opposite direction , 350 pips down to 350 pips up , all possible .

And yes: To call a "new trend" one should have at least some confirming factors. I did not get my confirmation since I could not count 5 down finally. On its way down it felt like a five, but it was not.

I made a call to hold the shorts near the bottom, basing that only on the look of the Awesome Oscillator. That was not only risky, it was outright wrong.

Due to my believe that we had experienced a truncated 5 at the top my count down was totally messed.

Right now for a short scalp I prefer down (and will soon close). But then I will prefer up, at least up to 3610 (upper side of actual pitchfork, +6/8 MMTL on hourly and +3/8 on 4h).

Around 3641 many fib confluences.

The downsloping trendline on dailys will be tested at around 3623 tomorrow.



Maybe I am missing a special point. If so I would kindly ask you to teach me a lesson :-)

hi everyone. i am new here. sure got loads to learn from the pros here.

i have been entering and exiting with bad results for the past 2-3hrs. any idea whats causing the market to be like this?

Good point, many traders regard their trading account as being the safest place for their capital...

Was just interested in getting your opinions, for possible future investment strategies, in the meantime I'm really still just concentrating on learning the right mind set and attitude to trade Forex consistently, fingers crossed I'm now moving away from the whole over-leveraged boom and bust style of equity management and towards a far more controlled steady growth style (slowly, slowly catchy monkey).

Truly understanding compounding as you mentioned in your previous post is the key to it imo, it doesn't happen over night...

put in a stop loss, I can't advise you as to where, that's down to your own risk profile...

we're not going more than 3585, today at least.
it's an important level and it needs momentum to break.

you can wait for a retrace, still we might go high first and then down.
you can also protect your position by hedging, that is find a good setup (dip) and go long with the same lot size. BUT i have to warn you, getting out of a hedged position might be a headache.

btw, use a SL next time, that's what we all are bragging here, sl and cut your losses.

We might be looking at a risk-on play for the rest of the week's (Friday) session. USD has seen a big run up and although there's an option barrier up @ 85, it seems like a stretch. Possible we'll see a move out of USD on the good fed news and into equities, meaning EU should head up; 1.362 as a former support is calling. Hard to speculate if we'll get a shake out down to 1.352. Question is what will Asia & London do with the minutes news. Currently waiting for sub 83.5 in USDJPY.

To truly reap the full benefit of compounding , you need to be consistent.
It is not a function of brilliance.

Given a choice , I will rather be consistently average than occasionally brilliant.

You have the right idea wrt ..controlled..steady....growth.
Compounding is plain scary if witnessed on your own investment rather than viewed on an Excell spreadsheet.
