I think so. You would have to re-drag GH and change the input, but once the pairs are out of the inputs list then GH should ignore them.

This is merely one of the many options to have cropped up in the last few days.

SendPairTrade allows/disallows buying the pair with the lowest stoch. If it is true, then UseScottHedgeFilter can enforce trading both trades only in a triple. If SendPairTradeis false, then UseScottHedgeFilter has no effect.

At least, that is what I intend. At some stage, the law of unintended consequences is going to kick in.

All this assumes a lack of bugs - not something I am going to promise.

Hi steve,

I am still running this EA successfully in 5 min TF while i had losses in 15 min tf.

I just noticed a bug in the EA. It places two sell trades instead on one buy and one sell.

Pl see the attached chart. Thanks.

If i choose scotthedge filter false, it works correctly Pl ignore my comments in previous post.

My opinion as you see from my previous post, no losses in 5 min tf inspite of huge losses in 15 min TF.

Oh dear I thought the idea of the Scott filter was to send two pairs , each of which has a common currency eg EUR , so as to limit the risk in times of fundies etc

and the switch SendHedgeTrade would make GH only send one trade but it looks like the scott filter above only lets it send one trade, aswell as, or instead of, the "SendHedgeTrade=false"

So for me, something is still not tallying (probably my brain)

Same here I'm little confused. I closed that function until further notice.

Fair enough , if thats the way its is , Thanks, I just presumed the Scott filter would only let Triples be activated and completely disable the sending of Quad (buy and sell)
Dangerous to presume isnt it

That would call for an extra input to retain flexibility - NoTradeAtAllIfQuad or some-such.

Anybody want this?

Please but maybe we should wait for more similar requests before you spend your time on it , I am hoping others to respond on this e2u???
On another note I am trying another instance of GH with timeframe 1m ,Corr 4H @ 50 periods(probably wrong but who cares) , trigger at 90, close at 20 AND in profit

That would be good input because in the morning the Quad make trouble. In the evening they make money and in the morning they take the profit back.
One other wish...
I want to use BasketTrailingStop for all open trades but I cannot get it to work with MPTM because the magic and comments are random in the EA. I have tried to fix but no...

maybe we should think to add on in this good bot (just winners 5 min, on live back-test) the well known recovery (your and mine 1-1-2-4 recovery), which is much better then any hedge trade ( I've seen) and not to take off hard stop lost etc, as an option in this amassing bot ! but the re-enter line should be much closer then daily range, because we are trading 5 M...so lets say 1 recovery 25 pips and 50 pips nr 2 recovery and 100 pips 3 th recovery, and that is like daily range on EUR/USD.....???

put it on another words, all recovery re-entries should be active in daily range of the pairs...

mptm is not intended to cope with multi-magic numbers.

As an interim measure, I have added a new input - AllTradesBelongToBasket. Find it in the 'Basket trade settings' section of the inputs. Setting this to true should force mptm to consider all open trades to be part of the basket it is monitoring.

Try it and see how you get on before I make this a permanent feature.

Be warned that there are no firm conclusions about whether the basket jumping/trailing stops work properly. Some say they do; I do not think so. Either way, I am not spending any time on this feature, so if they do not work properly then mptm is useless for your purpose.

It is a thought, albeit one that makes me blanche at the thought of coding it for a multi-pair trader.

Let me mull this over.

in fact it makes more sense either you send both trades or not send both trades whatever be the settings. if EA sends just one trade then its completely violating the hedging

simple fix would be TradeOnlyTripplets : if true send both orders only if they satify tripplet rule, else skip this iteration and look for next signal. If false send both orders , dont check for tripllet rule

Thank you very much. Yes BasketTrailingStop work if you have comments or magic. I use it all the time.

Whilst I am mulling, a couple of thoughts for everyone else.

 

  1. I think the UseScottHedgeFilter needs a rethink. As is, users want hedging but may find themselves stuck with an unhedged sell trade because the buy pair forms a quad rather than a triple. I am thinking that the trades should be cancelled altogether if the pairs do not form a triple. Anybody object to this?
  2. I have left GH running on my coding machine, set to take only the sell trade. This has left me with 3 open eurchf sells because they were part of a >90 correlation diff with 3 other pairs. This has to be a bad idea, so I think I will add a filter to stop this happening.

Any further thoughts?



Edit: this and roundrock's posts crossed in the ether. We can see what he thinks, so I asm guessing that this will be the consensus.
