Seriously, I know what you mean about it improving your trades - its like a sense check. Almost in the same way that people wanting to lose weight write down what they eat before consuming it. It makes the brain do a double check.

Anyway, I'm sure you don't annoy people - your charts are really good.

200ema on h4. Can you call them touches? If you walk far enough backwards from your chart, they look like touches... lol. Windsor show them shy of touching whereas FXCM show them touching... go figure!

The touches aren't mathematical and sometimes it has one touch, sometimes three and sometimes it slices through the 200ema like it wasn't even there. MAgix can tell you more about the touches. He is the king of the MAs!

Thank you! Bigwal had also pointed me in the right direction. the three touch thing is interesting, its the same principle for trend lines as well.

As you say though, no hard and fast rules in this game. Keeps us on our toes...!

This is more the classic play here B...Found visually on all time frames, played best off the most current.

Yellow, 200EMA.
Red, 20EMA.

1. Price drives below 200EMA, brings the 20 to turn the chart short.
2. Price retraces back to the 200EMA, and the chart stays short, ie, 20 still below 200.
3. Price triggers downside to confirm play.
As long as price continues to close below the 20, the trade is still in play.

There are a lot of times when the retrace doesn't happen, and depending on your comfort levels, especially with the faster charts and other types of S/R and MM you practice will allow you to either take the trade or wait for smoother sailing. These plays are viewed daily off of the 1m and 5m charts. The 1m always triggering at least once during Asian or Frankie, continued into London and running into NY.

At close of London, NY will typically reverse the play at some point and the 2 will cross in the opposite direction, if you are watching the line from where they cross, you will see this as a retrace.

Hope this helps out a little.

Still short on my EU (~60 pips) and GU (~100 pips) day trading positions although only one remaining runner left with a trailing stop and a final target as already mentioned numerous times today... lol

Got two long-term short postions on EURUSD (1.4013) and NZDUSD (0.7550). Not quite the top, but practice makes perfect.

I won't take any further long-term short positions on the $ as I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket. Dollar could weaken again when we hit DIX supply ~78.50-78.85.

QE2 expectation will turn into reality next week, so expect some explosive action in the markets where the $ is concerned!

Work has also taken my DSL line away again, so I got a 3G dongle now. I had to state my business case for keeping the DSL line and well, umm, trading is not exactly related to business software... lol
