You can almost get to the point where you begin to believe that it's not incompetence, they just really wanna be dinks.
I am really not sure how the average person works their finances with the taxes we pay.

New member to the forum here, hope to contribute my thoughts to this thread.
Have been trading currency for some time now, cable is my favorite due to high correlation with EURUSD but with better price opportunities due to overall lower liquidity.
I trade a well known method, "Bill Williams Chaos" style, there is nothing magical or secret about it (I see there are other traders also using this method on this forum). However, it is elegantly simple and beautiful to quantify. It takes a few well known trading techniques (e.g. the breakout) and grounds them strongly in the assumption of the market as a nonlinear dynamic (a.k.a chaotic) system. My preferred charts are the daily, I feel 24 hours is enough time for forex traders to come to some agreement on the price of most contracts.
Not every trade is a winner, but more than enough are.
I don't like Metatrader for trading, but the charting facilities and inbuilt API for programming make it an indispensable tool in the kit. I have an Metatrader broker here in Australia for charting purposes but place my trades elsewhere (much closer to the interbank market thankyou!).
Regarding todays chart, I have placed a sell stop order with my broker to short a few bids around 1.5640 (~10 pips below the 20th Oct 1.5650 low). Stoploss on the 20th Oct high if the order is filled. Have added a few notes to the chart for discussion.
