Cool, I like to see people trying various things with the EAs.

But is it one of the six pairs?

EU and GC winner/loser.
I did put it on a diff broker demo than I usually use, and I think i have had issues before when a broker doesn't have one of the 14 pairs, ea doesn't want to do anything. fxdd doesnt have nzdjpy, so that could be the cause. I'll figure it out soon

You are probably running up against the BidsHaveChanged check, which requires in part that all pairs' bids be non-zero in order to take any trading actions.

So am I seeing it right, but looks like it's looking for trades to open every 10 or 6 minutes instead of every hour. Anybody else noticed the same? Or is it caused because the reset kicks in too early?
Edit: Maybe i'm to soon with this reaction. I'll let it run and see what it has done during the night tomorrow morning. Goodnight.

Also incredible how many versions appear every week. Hard to keep up demo-ing Will post my demo results here. "Normal" version Phantom14_Add_02 is doing very nice since its start last monday morning. Started demo with $8544. Now it is $8841)

As long as all trades were different pairs inside the same hour, it's trading as intended.

It's not that specific. Different pairs can present themselves as biggest phantom winners inside of an hour. When one does, we open a trade for it and tag it as already traded that hour.

The 01a idea might create too many "noise" trades, we'll see.

I thought it looked which Phantom is the biggest winner DURING the hour instead of AT minute 0 and that it ONLY added that ONE every hour.
But you meant that if, by example, EURJPY is the biggest winner at 22:15 and GBPCHF is the biggest at 22:38 it adds both during that hour.

Indeed, we'll see how it performs. I'll give an update tomorrow.

You guys probably have the feel now for how each new blend of tactics is not based on perfect trading wisdom, just a few tools in the bag that have been proven to work quite often, added to new ideas as they arise. Of course we filter any proposed blend of known proven tactics and new unproven tactics through what we THINK is a decent understanding of forex mechanics, but we always assume we must see our ideas in action for a while before we declare them good.

Our process for improvement is based on, "Hey, here's something to try, let's code it up and give it a whirl, then analyze why it works or doesn't work and repeat the process until a better strategy emerges."

We got where we are through this process, and we're keeping that process intact.

Obviously, the goal is to get more frequent profit and fewer situations where we get big drawdown. Waiting for things to happen when the market is quiet or strange isn't a problem. But those other two things, we want and continue to pursue them doggedly.

I had a senior moment earlier, when you posted the 03 taz version. I thought it was the addsix that you had modded for me, to reverse the biggest loser, but it wasnt.
Wondering if you would mind taking addsix_02 and adding the mods to it, so that it takes the biggestphantomloser each half hour, as well as the biggestphantomwinnder each half hour.
I have tried to make this change, but there's something I am not quite getting right, as it's not working properly.
Would appreciate it if you could?

I've also been using taz's original mod (the one without my fix) and it has so far outperformed any other EA here to date.

I like how it "goes with the flow" once a pair's trade(s) become profitable, on each tick it gets, it will place another trade for that profitable pair.... just like I said before when we were trying to debug taz's original mod, it was all to do with momentum.

This is just like an accidental science experiment that created a monster.

Yes, I also experienced that high DD yesterday and the day before, but it was all good in the end.

Funny observation... it closed a LOT of trades for just a mere 0.1% pop, then the next lot (another big bunch) of trades made up the next 0.9% (I've got my ProfitPct at 1.0%)

Yeah, i've seen the risk as some of you may have noticed if you checked myfx stats the other day. I am sure those who are running it at a lower lot size aren't feeling it quite as much, although the returns shouldn't be quite as high as mine have been either, time will tell.

Are you interested in helping me figure out how to get addsix_02 to work the same way? My hackjob coding and lack of knowledge is keeping me from getting it working right. I think I got close, but it's def not right yet.
If you wanna help me, let me know and we can do it via pm or something, then post the mod to the thread once it's working right.

Edit: just to confirm on your previous statement about 'each tick it gets it adds' it's not actually doing that on you is it? It shouldn't be adding trades except on each half hour mark

I think you can do it the mod... just find where ClearSymbolMarks() gets called then remove the "if" statement before it so that it get's called all the time (that's what I meant by each tick)... that's basically your mod, plus of course the bit where you add trades on the 00 AND 30 minute marks.

I can send you my attempt at the mod so far, but thought it might be easier for you just to mod it yourself instead of figuring out what I did wrong? Either way is fine with me. However it's the following changes, not just the every half hour.

currently addsix_02, every hour opens the biggest winner of the phantom trades. But only if it's one of the six pairs MC has decided on.

what I want it to do for testing is,
every half hour, open the biggest winner of the phantoms, plus reverse the biggest loser of the phantoms.
The rest of the logic as far as only adding to a trade if its in profit etc, all remain intact and untouched.

Please test that it works first, I make no guarantees that it does work without errors due to how fast that I made that mod.

But I'm confident that I have implemented your mod correctly.

Here is my version on taz's original mod, just cleaned up the code a little, all intact though.

The default settings are how I've been using it to trade, a bit too risky for some, but seems to get the job done.

I notice at around 7:00 GMT (London Session Open), it gets the job done VERY FAST. *hint-hint*
