but if I understand this method it is assumed that the trend at the end of New ork if it is (positive, negative) continues for several hours on the session of the asia ok?

So then we can go on the M1 and if such a trend is the increase in H1 we can do all the pulbacks was down and buy?
is that possible? Finally I understand the method? :-)
This also means that the expert advisor not take as long or short but it will not make the 2 right?

one can even say that this method is perfect for the scalping because if what geoff is confirmed and is confirmed by many post it means that we can increase the number of pips taking all corrections have mini downward if the tendency is rising and vice versa yes no?

not understand what u means, but i only can say that all was automatic, u don;t need go to m1 or another time frame n execute manual trade right now untill u really understand n can read market direction well.

so the easy way to understand this is, put that EA on demo account on m5, activate it, change GMT setting. n leave it.. watch it on m5 ,couple days.

for indicator fractal u can found it on navigator, but u not need it, because all was automatic.

I mean that if the expert advisor has confirmed the upward trend while the expert advisor take their positions and I buy all manual adjustments downward, which theoretically increase my earnings yes no?
it would be possible for someone to make an indicator as to the expert advisor that we are in a trend bullish or bearish or neutral it will allow advanced manual method?

just one last thing when the expert advisor takes position he finds the trend and so it does take that long or short positions but never on the same day may be long or short it is purchase at each session or sale c right?

I am very grateful for everyone that takes the time to test this strategy and
try out variations or optimising techniniques to improve the EA's results.

It must be difficult for members who do not have English as their first
language to make themselves undertood, especially now that the thread has
grown so large!

Throughout the thread, no matter what the EA is called, the issue numbers
are still valid and indicate the latest version of the strategy. i.e. V17a is the latest version.

I am in the UK, I am awake for the London and New York sessions so I
have tended to ignore the Tokyo session as I am asleep but I hoped to make
an EA that would trade automatically for me while I slept!

When I first noticed the basic trend part of this strategy I used only 10 SMA
to test my observations, produced a simple EA just to prove that it worked
and you can see the results that were obtained in post #4.

This strategy, just using 10 SMA, gave better than 90% profit trades right
from the start which, in my experience, is exceptional when trying to make an EA.

Adding filters has reduced the number of losing trades but, it has also
reduced the overall number of trades and eliminated a number of possible
good trades as well.

The only problem was, and still is, the big draw-down that often happens
through the Tokyo session.

I know suggestions from Skyzerfx and calstock are being tested by piptician
and, if anyone can code these ideas, piptician is the man to do it!

I only back-test for 12 months because I have limited disk space on my
laptop, so my optimisation results have been criticised by a number of people
but most of these critics have posted charts for longer periods in order to
show that the EA is no good, very few have taken the time to optimise the
settings to find values that will work over a longer period!

Fortunately, many others are trying their own settings to find something that
fits their own comfort zone and I have never ceased in my own efforts!

I just saw the link geoff and is saving $ 86 for 55 trades since May 2010 which is about $ 2 per trade medium so my question is this result is very very low so why so many people adopt this method which has the link to an geoff% success 86%, sorry for the questions but as I am new I want to understand.

je viens de voir le lien de geoff et il est en gain de 86$ pour 55 trade depuis mai 2010 ce qui fait environ 2 $ par trade de moyenne donc ma question est ce résultat est très très faible donc pourquoi autant de monde adopte cette méthode qui a sur le lien de geoff un % de reussite de 86% ,pardon pour ses questions mais comme je suis nouveau je veux comprendre .

Is it just me, but I feel like the last 2-3 pages have been some kind of outer world experience! Is the thread being hijacked? Are we back to 10 year backtesting....again!

No - it's just not you. Geoff tries to keep it on track but frequently it becomes so convoluted and confusing with newbees (I'm NOT attacking newbees as long as they've read the thread!) posting stuff that has been answered 100 x's in the thread. How many times does it have to be pointed out that backtesting is absolutely useless!

I'm almost at the point of not reading the thread anymore.
P.S. For you newbees (and I'm trying to be helpful here) as Geoff has pointed out several times (and I've certainly discovered this to be true in my 12+ years of trading) is that the dynamics of the forex markets change. What works this month or year MAY NOT work next month or next year. And Geoff set this up for Alpari UK. If you reside in the US you can open a demo with Alpari UK but you will not be allowed to open a Real Account. Which means info directed and discussed about Alpari UK will be totally irrlevant to your trading. You'll need to find a different broker if you intend to trade this live - and Alpari U.S. is completely different than Alpari U.K.

Other than the 140 sl This ea is great. It is the best I've ever run

I know there is a lot of work back testing Time would be better spent optimizing it for your broker IMHO

I use alpari and the defaults work fine but for FXDD they needed tweaking. I like sky and calstock ideas' for limit and stop orders to reduce the 140sl but that opens up other problems. I suppose a person could use Geoff's manual system and trade it during the Tokyo session that way

Hi All Traders! Thanks Geoff for you logic system! I use the GEOFF's Manual Setup v3.5 (Indicator).ex4. My EA includes 3 market orders and 2 limit orders.
My mathlab formula in EA include the matrix math system (patent).
System Features in my EA:
1. 5 orders: 3 markets `n 2 limits (my risk 4% per order)
2. After 420 Min (7Hrs), if orders are in market, they are closed at the best price (but not less than 7 pips).
3.Trade EVERY signal (Not martingale, mathlab matrix).
4.SL hidden. Broker SL=900

This multicomponent system, the logic of the matrix is written in Java for JForex (Dukascopy), i have the Java to Mt4 Bridge. In mq4, it fails to implement these functions (at least for me).
But logic of Geoff is work.

I can see it in Java.
