Put a lTL on your 30 and you will see where the trigger is.

Well, actually I didn't enter on the flag but on a breakout from a box ystd. See attached chart showing it.

my daily chart shows we have been in an uptrend since June

you got it, now it answers your question whether to trade the break of the box. The TL is the trigger. Confluence of TL's is very powerful. That's why I have been saying to watch 5616 for pages now.

That would mean long which contradicts the breakout from the box which means I'll sit tight.

It means you wait and let it tell you what she wants, don't just take a trade on the first break of a range/box, look at the bigger picture. We had some nice long wicks on the rejection of the high, we had a lovely bar on rejection of the news, now we had 3 little bears/crows on the 15 that is testing the TL confluence, so just sit back and wait for your next trigger. And no, it does not automatically mean a long from here.
