The ea traded 196 times over 1 yr and 96 times in 2010 only. Therefore in the 1 year 98 trades were applied with a t/p 50 and in 2010 48 trades. However if you check the backtests 30 times over one year the t/p2 was hit but only 10 times in 2010.

This finding let me to the believe (and I discussed this with other members of the thread) that due to the changing Tokyo market we need to think about decraesing t/p2.

Changing this parameter in my view has not only something to do with maths/stats but as well with feeling for the market. It just is...

I raised this a few weeks ago and I reduced my second TP to 25 and theres no doubt the profits have increased with a great reduction in the second tp running to the trailing stop....

I would agree, I don't think that the back testing necessarily shows this improvement as with the higher stop losses the numbers are better. However what I see currently is that the market is not ranging as it did earlier. Therefore what was is not currently although we need to watch closely as it could become again leaving our money on the table.

The errors listed in journal are all about "old tick GBPUSD" and sometimes even show old tick other pairs...

Hi Richard,

There will be an error message buried in there somewhere - just need to keep looking. Try opening the log file in a text editor (Notepad) and search for the text "Tokyo".

I could use a bit of a reminder... (yes, I've read through the entire thread - but it has been awhile)

Does the EA place trades if either MA is flat?

On my trading platform (forex.com/uk), the 197 has been flat for the last 10 candles, including the current one.

Hi,

I had in the past trades being placed when the ea was flat on one ma. But this might have been only a rounding to the 5th decimal. Right now the 197 ma seems to be flat to the 5th decimal and I get the message that ea would not open a trade possibly because it takes into cinsideration all decimals. But let's see, if spot stays here and the latest observation should be below the older one if it gets positive then.
