FxRich,I also use FXCM UK MT4 for this GREAT EA,so can you please post how you have your EA setup.I downloaded the V9 onto the H1 GU chart but could not find the presets if any for this V9,if you have the presets please send them.Also,I see V9 is setup for "2" orders only.Fxcm UK is +1 is this what you have on your FXCM VPS?Any info would be greatly appreciated.Thank you........GOD BLESS

smpprj, there is no preset files come with v9. I use Geoff's low risk settings for v8 - pls see Geoff's post#1, with increased lot size. Yes, fxcm uk is +1. Hope this helps.

the nonconsolidation of the mas should have made all brokers not trade (of course only in the default settings) because the margin was never so close that the outcome could have been different with slightly other data, am I wrong?

In any case your post makes me have a few thoughts about the markets this week and the functionality of the ea (which might sound simplicistic but let's not forget the basics):

1) GBPUSD rangebound this week
ea needs a trend in order to work and even the consolidation of 197 and 10 mas were not enought to enter a trade on the live version

2) design of the ea
no trade means not only no wins but as well no losses, which defines the superiority of a strategy

3) Going forward
Jivas methodology seems to cope more with short term ranging markets but my perception might be wrong. In any case has Geoff's ea proofed another week that the systematic behind still works and does not need any amendment.

Do you agree?

yes, I don't know what you say about jiva's method, but in regard to geoff's ea there is no problem. All I can do is to wait the next chance.

Hi Traders.

Fxpro no trades today
SIG Trader4 no trades today
FXCM UK no trades today
Alkpari Uk 01:15 3 x short at 1.51528
TP1 =22 reached already
TP2 = not reached yet
TP3 = not reached yet
However I decided to close all 3 orders after PA breach -D1 pivot level at 1.51739 ( total loose approx, 3 x -21,1 = -63,3 pips - say -63 -demo)
After my analysis wee can see test of 1.15300 R or 1.5055 S level
but it is not to this tread issue refereed.
Well, TP2 = 50
TP3 = 80 both reached already .

Did anyone try to reduce the t/p2 in v9 based algorithm?

It has nothing to do with the lack of trading this week or me getting inpatient but with only 30 trades over 1 year out of 95 hitting the full t/p of 50 and only 10 out of 42 this year it seems to me some idea with sense.

As Tokyo trading patterns seem to change from H2 2009 to H1 2010 I played a bit around and came to better profitability with much lower numbers.

is someone out there who shares this view?

I'm using Tokyo_H1_GBPUSD_V15.
Please see my chart.

As Piptician motioned in past few days the TSL doesn't work at ones.
In my pint of view I need just set-down TP1 from 22 to say 18 to get TSL to work quicker.
That is what I found in my latest optimization with Tokyov15.

thanks a lot for your answer. Sorry, I was dumb asking if you use 2 mas or only as you mentioned you have 3 leg strategy and this must use then 10 and 197 ma.

My question is then the following:

Alpari uk live did not enter a trade with v9
Alpari uk demo did enter a trade with v9
you say: alpari uk live did enter a trade with v15 3 leg strategy

v15 3 leg strategy uses the same entry algorithm as v9. strange, isn't it?

i often came across differences between various brokers but that within the same broker the same algo sometimes works and sometimes not is new to me.

You know what i mean? Or does anyone has an answer to this?

In last few days I've been trying with some brokers use 2 or even 3 EA's (all demo ).
To be honest without expected results.
There is CamV5 very reliable
SimpleH1_v9 never trades
Tokyov15 tested for correct set-up.
All with different iMnumber of course.

Got your point. was just discussing in depth with Sandra camcvoo5 vs. v9 and had some interesting points. In a nutshell camcvoo5 somehow has better risk weighted return than v9 in 2010 alone. If you backtest for 1 yr they are almost similar.
However if you lower t/p2 from 50 to 34 in v9 even in 2010 it performs as good as camcvoo5.

The problem with v9 is it's t/p2 of 50 pips in my view. The ea traded 196 times over 1 yr and 96 times in 2010 only. Therefore in the 1 year 98 trades were applied with a t/p 50 and in 2010 48 trades. However if you check the backtests 30 times over one year the t/p2 was hit but only 10 times in 2010.

This finding let me to the believe (and I discussed this with other members of the thread) that due to the changing Tokyo market we need to think about decraesing t/p2.

Changing this parameter in my view has not only something to do with maths/stats but as well with feeling for the market. It just is not good any more for these big moves in Tokyo and only for this market the ea is designed. We should not think about dragging the trade into London session and then get some volatility because this is not the idea behind.

what do you think or others?

OK! Dear Haishang.

I've been done 2413 tests with TokyoV15 for now.
Could you, please make 12 month test Tokyov15 on set-up :
TP1=18
TP2=30
TP3=68
TSL=10 for GBPUSD.
It's no matter which broker do you want to use and I don't know how quality of the database you've got.
Just let's see what result can bee
My fx-engin is busy for now and in few day forward I'm afraid.
