Yes, I indeed love Thinkorswim...Their trading system NEVER go down once since I with them for past 6-8 years. and they save me alot on commission with tight spread.

I thought MBT has same reputation....

My opinion is this:

MBT NAV as a platform is not nice, ugly, but time-proven and steady
MT4 is a TRY and IMO a total failure and they take little care to offer at least the same service as on their home-grown platform

All in All I like them, because:

1) I get best spread
2) Instant execution
3) Best support ever
4) A feeling of belonging to a family
5) API to make everything you need yourself ( I am software engineer myself )

So currently positive things overweight negative, though I dont believe they will fix my mentioned problems anytime soon

You'll have to open another account selecting Desktop in the application, but we won't have to verify any of your info which should result in approval the same day.

I have a pending NAV account request waiting for duplicate approval. If you could help me with that I would be most greatfull.

I currently usingh thinkorswim and tradestation. I think they are the BEST so far.

I just like MBT can integrate their own software with mt4 as well. So I don't have to worry about it when I trade my standard lot with them

Don't have an answer for that right this moment - I'll have to inquire with our Dev team.

Well, I would suggest that they work on this and allow MT4 account holders also trading access thru their Nav software, that would take care of a problem such as today's. As they said you can log in in Nav and see what is going on, and they state in their site that all prices are the same whether Nav or MT4, so just enabling trading Nav trading would:

1. Take care of a problem such as today's.
2. Give the customer a choice where to trade depending on what the customer needs as conditions change.

This has already been addressed on these forums. They are working on it, but Meta and Nav have completely different order types, and Meta handles trades separately by deals whereas Nav aggregates, so if you usually traded in MT4 and then suddenly placed a trade via Nav, it creates problems. In addition, Nav has much better Trailing Stops that aren't compatible with Meta. It would be ideal, but I'm not sure it is ever going to happen if you just think it through.

I called and I DID in fact have 2 stealth trades open....

They did not show on my mt4 screen at all.

Trade desk took care of it for me so I advise anyone that closed a erroneous trade this morning yourself to follow Jeff's advice & check your account with the trade desk..

Ulterior, I really hope for you that your family treats you better than MBT. Mine does for sure.

Now think of it. Thousands of people experienced several hours of stress, uncertainty, inability to open or close positions, many have lost money or were not able to earn money because of that. Would you at least expect a small, tiny, microscopic token of regret? Apology? I mean, I don't expect MBT CEO or C. Mercer or Justin to commit a harakiri, but you know... saying something like: we know we screwed things up, we acknowledge that, we are truly sorry... No, you won't hear it... business as usual...

Anyway, this is my last post in this thread, as tomorrow I withdraw my money from MBT and start looking for another, decent, MT4 broker in addition to my second broker (GoMarkets, Australia, haven't ever had a single issue with them). MBT's MT4 experiment has failed in the most miserable way.
sans peur et sans reproche

Mike,

You can access MBT Web 1.0 right now from our home page in the top right corner. http://mbtrading.com/

This is the first version of our web platform and it offers the same functions of the Desktop; but just scaled back. The next version will offer many more tools and advanced windows that you might expect from a trading platform.

Let me know what you think.

Hi Justin,

It appears that you cannot modify orders in MBT Web 1.0. You can only cancel them. For example, I like to move my stop loss in my TTO orders as price moves in my favor. However, I cannnot do this in MBT Web 1.0. I have to cancel the order and then reenter it. Can you please look into this?

Thanks,

Jeff

These are good points. What would the policy have been had I not been able to exit positions that were open & live. I imagine I could have lost a bunch today. I understand and expect market risk. I better be prepared for the Black Swan of broker risk. Did anyone learn anything about having an account at another broker to at least hedge locked open positions? Word to the wise.

Can we expect any sort of detailed explanation of these events or what might be done to avoid it again. I understand servers going down occasionally. I don't understand a platform opening bogus trades in my account....

My account is currently showing 2 open trades that I did not place, again, short G/U from .4813 area...

This morning the trading desk closed 2 longs that I did not place... looked like it was all cleared up then..

about 30 minutes ago these 2 new trades show up.. I called and the desk came on and asked if I want to place a trade, I said, no mt4 erroneous trade problem, he put me on hold and after like 20 minutes I hung up, will try back later...

Like others I can understand a lot but trades being placed in my account that I did not initiate is a bit too much.....

Both instances are involving trades that basically mirror the last trade I placed myself.. I closed 2 G/U long 1 lot trades last night and this mornings false positions were 2 long G/U 1 lot trades and this afternoons was 2 short G/U 1 lot trades..

From my recollection this has happened in the past as well... This problem needs to be rectified as it is an unacceptable malfunction..imo.
It is a problem that would force me to move my account elsewhere.

On a lighter note they do have pretty good on hold music....light jazz, upright bass was nice... kinda makes me want to call back...
