Hello and welcome to a thread that I hope will help you break out of your shell of dependancy for others to shape your concepts of Trading into something concrete.
Writing Code is only scary because you don't know how. YET.
I first thought about doing a VT Coding Course as a webinar but quickly remembered the problems that those who are willing to post their methods encounter. Trolls.
So I decided to post it in a series of threads whereby I can decide to respond or simply move on to posting the next Tutorial.
There are many differences in various Code Languages and I should state for the record that I have had No Formal Training in any of them. I have, however, been offered kudos from professionals in XL, VB, Delphi, Easy Language & MetaStock but more relevantly VT Trader.
In other words, you can't hide behind the "But I dont know that stuff. It's too complicated for me." excuse. It's easier than you may think.
All of the Languages/Platforms have their particular advantages and if I had my choice, I would mandate that ALL Charting Platforms Clone or recreate Easy Language from Omega and include the Open Platform Ideology that they embraced. A platform that allowed you to program your own functions.
I still use Omega Pro but sadly it is no longer supported as they have moved on to E-Signal.
Enough preamble. This is about VT Trader which has (believe it or not) some advantages over Omega Pro's Easy Language.
Not the least of which is the ability to plot as many outputs {lines or dots} as your CPU can handle.
We are going to start slow {actually write the code to plot MyMA}, then add bands, then Identify when the bands are breached. It will take more Explanation than Code. But believe me, you can do this.
PLEASE. If you think this is a worthwhile thread and feel you have to reply saying so, Open a New Thread . Who knows? If you're quick enough, I may have to edit this post to point future questions to your thread.
Each Tutorial will be comprised of 1 to >4 posts as this will allow me to post screenshots as we go.
Heads Up ! Comin' through !
Here we go.
