Just some modification I guess.. Look in Thread Attachments

v7_adx Name of file.. You'll find it, if you want to give it a try..

Personally I would stick with v6, if any version works for you, stick

with it and don't touch anything..

It's like Windows PC, you trying to upgrade, clean up, change settings

hopping for the better and end up with Blue Screen, Hard drive

Format and Windows reinstall..

I've noticed in the last few weeks, many trades (all?) go a bit against us before going on to make TP.

Would it be worth backtesting to have the ea sell at X pips above the initial entry price if going short, buy at X pips below the initial entry price if going long.

For example in today's action, if for today 1.4835 was the indicated entry, ask the ea to sell at 1.4845 (10 pips higher) with a 32 pip target vs. 22 pips. If this didn't eliminate very many trading days it would increase profits by 40%+ without any increase in risk. Or perhaps only the 2nd position be sold at 10 pips higher. Search for optimum value of X.

I did suggest the exact same idea, some time ago on the thread.

The additional profit per trade of just say 8 -10 pips could make a massive difference to what is already a very sound strategy.

Sure there may be the odd occasion where a buy trade initiates and immediately heads north, in doing so leaving you high & dry, but overall, this is something that I feel would be very worthwhile and something I will continue to look into.

Hi paws.

I saw this when you posted it before and I'm sorry I didn't reply to you then but I couldn't think of a suitable answer.

I think your observation may be correct but to prove it you need to inspect every trade over a long period before you can be sure.

The solution that you suggest sounds easy but I don't think it is all that easy to implement, I could be wrong, but I have spent a lot of time already on this EA and I feel that it is now as good as I can get it.

Thanks Gridder, I didn't notice your previous input - somehow missed it in the 146 pages! I'm seeing good (understatement) results with just the way the ea is now, but when I can watch the goings on, I'll do the 2nd trade entry at 15 - 30 pips manually at the better entry.

trust me this strategy works.
You could probably re-produce that strategy via an ea creation website. Need to sign up and pay a fee, but you could probably do it yourself in half an hour, without the need to crash anyone's thread.

I set up v7adx on EURUSD using settings suggested on here (just demo). 2 orders at 1.26400. See what happens

so indicates switch from v7 to v5a/5b but not sure if 5a/b would trade either
