hahahaha. CNBC reporting that this whole thing could be, but very unlikely, was started by one person who put in an order and instead of putting "M" for million, they put "B" for billion. If this unlikley scenario comes to be true, someone might need witness protection.

I use MT4 for charting but trade of Active Trader, alongside other brokers, I would never entertain trading through a system that has such latency, when you hit your sell button, you send a signal to BT, who queries the broker you use for the price who sends it back to BT and then BT sends it back to you. That is a few too many steps to my liking.

Thanks Cloggie! Yes I think I'm with you - I'm gonna stay up too, I don't want to miss this either! I'm a newbie and I've never experienced trading through an election! Are you sitting flat until the first exit polls are in or is there anything you'd recommend scalping?

Trading the elections is high risk, you will see some major whipsaws in the PA and will need massive stops, not for the fainthearted. Also this is the first time ever in UK elections that 3 parties are running so tight in the polls with 30% of the voters undecided until today.

This is probably the best example of why trading with the trend is the safest bet, any contrarian trader would have had some serious losses. Wonder how many margin calls we had in this room alone.
