Cable is in an uptrend on the daily although it is not a reversal , we have just had a retracement ,so a break above 1.54479 should take us back into the uptrend towards 1.55746.

I would say it depends on your perspective ie timeframe/s you trade from , it might help if you guys give the timeframe for your trade.

Personally i stick to d1/4h/60 or 4h/60/15 so even if we are in a retracement on the 60 minute i will not trade it even if its showing a good trend withing the retracement.

I had a long from 95 lol. I just wanted to make a profit on this long. Guess a bit nervous and my knee-jerk reactions coming in again!

See the irregularities? You'd wait for a confirm break on the hourly to go long, but you wouldn't wait an hour to see if price could close below today's R1 level @5411 to go short. We're talking about positioning here, if you're scalping the ltf ie the m5, the m1 or lower, then whatever happens on the htf ie the h1 should be of no concern.
Just a thought.

All very true! I am getting my trading stratgies mixed up and this is why I need to get a trading plan on paper and stick to my rules. I am mixing long-term with short-term strategies which is not good hence the irregularities!
