And I am going to watch the 2011 forecast from Darling, if he revises that below 3.5% cable is done for.

For now I am out to find my entry on Cable, see a retrace here forming

Any election give away just means more debt so Cable is not going to like it. The only thing giving Cable a boost is a surprise reduction in the deficit. The market expects a reduction of around 12B, if it is larger Cable may get a boost. Any increase in VAT will give Cable a boost, not likely to see an increase though.

Darling will need to be careful not to give the market a fright, so far even at 12% deficit to GDP Cable has not fallen as far as it could have and the market is focusing on the PIIGS

No VAT increase.

The chancellor told the BBC at the weekend there would be no "giveaways" and people wanted "a sensible, workmanlike Budget". He also said a rise in VAT was "not on the table".
